Valheim
Mac 60 FPS Guide Bootcamp
I have logged many hours in Valheim with my Mac Book Pro through Bootcamp and after reading the discussions a lot people are requesting Mac support. If you follow this guide you'll be running 60 FPS in no time in the world of Valheim. (Note this doesn't work with M1)

My Spec's:
Mac book Pro 16 inch 2019
2.4 GHz
Amd 5500M
16 GB RAM

1. Open up Bootcamp on your Mac Os

2. Install and Update Windows (pro or home)

3. Disable Game Bar
- I have game mode off because this is an early access title and they are still working on optimizing the game

4. Set Power Plan to High Performance (you may have to create it)

5. Install Amd Drivers from bootcampdrivers.com (January Red Edition.... Very important)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XWt1V8sBZ60&ab_channel=ElfieSanders

6. Type MS Config in windows search
-> Boot
-> Advanced Options
-> Set number of processors to 12 if you have 16. System will then restart.
(Optional but you will see improvements)

7. Install Quick CPU and select Maximum Performance (Top left looks like cellular service) we will edit the plan from here.

(Under advanced settings do the following) Note with each setting click apply on application start so you don't have to reapply the settings each time you will have to select it for each setting. You will also have to leave quick cpu open in order for it to work while playing games.

-> Turn off Turbo Mode
-> In Turbo Power Limits sett both to 25 Watt's
-> Go to speed shift
Set Min 3.00 Ghz's
Set Max 3.80 Ghz's
Set Desired 3.40 GHz's

8. Install GPU-Z
->In the graphics card tab in the bios version line you will see a grey send arrow click it and save it somewhere you'll remember.
-> You can now uninstall GPU-Z

9. Take a deep breath you're almost there feel free to add me on Steam if you have any questions

10. Install More Power Tool from Igors Lab
-> Click install red bios and more power tool then click through the arrows until you get to
(3 - Download and instructions) scroll down to the More Power tool and select the big download box
!!! Careful Disclaimer !!!
Follow these instructions very carefully as you don't want to set any settings higher than your OS can handle. Again if you have any questions feel free to add me on Steam. The game will run around 30 FPS or worse if you don't install this.

11. Open the more power tool select
-> your graphics card
-> Click Load
-> Load the Bios file you saved earlier from GPU-Z (Navi.14 or whatever you named it)

Settings
-> Click Features
-> Under Overdrive Features click GPU Clock Limit
-> Then click frequency and you will see GFX Max and Min
-> Don't touch the Max but change the Min to 1000 if you have the same graphics card
My max is 1450 so set the min to 70% of Max
-> Then save the file and Click write
-> You can now exit the more power tool

12. Open AMD Radeon settings In global settings
-> Radeon Anti-Lag On
-> Rad Chill Off
-> Image Sharpening on
-> 60%
-> Radeon Enhanced Sync
Under Advanced
-> Anti Alias - Use Application settings
-> Anti Alias method - Multisampling Method
-> Morphi Anti - Disabled
-> Anisotropic Filtering - Disabled
-> Texture Filter Quality - Performance
-> Surface Format Optimization - Enabled
-> Tessalation - Use App Settings
-> Open GL - Disabled

13. Follow this Video for Valheim Settings note don't update your drivers ever they are moded and won't work.

I really hope this helps those of you who are out there that want to play Valheim on your Mac these settings also work really well with other games. If you have any questions feel free to reach out and let me know your opinions below. I'm still playing around with some settings and will update this discussion with any changes that show game improvements. Have fun and good luck!
