What does "The Elder" mean?
I think "The Elder" is a huge sambucus monster.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sambucus

But in Japanese Localization, "The Elder" is translated as "長老",
And "長老" means long long living old man.

Which "The Elder" means sambucus or long-lived tree?

Long Lived person is nice and close enough. Its was the medicine man / chief of the Village in Norse culture

An elder is also a type of tree so its quite appropriate :).
