Working fuel mod???
Ok so I have a ton of various torches, lanterns and firepits and tired of having to keep fueling them constantly.

I tried a mod that as suppose to I guess let you keep them all lit but it did not work with the latest versions of the games and based on people asking the mod be updated guess it never will be.

So is there a working mod that helps keep everything lit that requires fuel? I don't care if it takes the items from my inventory to fuel them just tired of having to fuel them constantly.

So is there a working mod that will keep everything lit?

And will friends have to also have the mod installed as I know some games require all players on the server to have the mod for to be able to play. Raft was one such game where he could only join if he had them installed as well.

Synchronising mods for multiplayer is in the dreaded 'it depends' territory. Generally you won't be able to connect without mods that add new assets to the world, but for things that just change vanilla mechanics a little you can mix and match. Generally.

There are unfortunately very few mods that can operate server side only.

https://thunderstore.io/c/valheim/p/Digitalroot/Eternal_Fire is the current no-refuelling mod.

This works for torches

Can put on the client or the server or both

Thanks got all my lights and fires lit. Yeah I have a few huge bases and was getting annoying as so many lights to keep fueled. But is working now after little figuring out what all needed to be installed for it to work.

Thanks!

Actually the one Mharr suggested works perfectly for all fires and lights got it working just now

It is possible that the timed one works just on a server though? That would be super lit.

There's also devcommands. If you enter [setfuel 20] it fills up everything, including fireplaces, to max. But you'll have to repeat the command when fuel runs out.

Oh, that's a new one - very nice. That opens the possibility of using something like a server command mod to repeat this on a timer. https://thunderstore.io/c/valheim/p/JereKuusela/Cron_Job

yeah never been able to get the dev command panel to open up for me no matter what page I follow the instructions on

That's weird, on Steam it should be simple. Add -console to game properties/general/launch options, load the game and enter a world, press F5 and type in the activation command: devcommands

yeah it's in the properties but it never opens the panel for me

Try "%command% -console" as your launch properties, (it should default to doing that either way but maybe something got twisted) also do you have one of those keyboards where you have to toggle the function keys somehow? Beyond that all I can think is your F5 key is actually broken!

well yeah I play on a laptop and have tried F5 and also FN+F5 and neither.

Now question as I am using the mod you suggested. Being I am launching through the mod manager if I add that to the steam properties will it launch that coding through the manager or does it only work if loaded through steam??

That's a good point, yeah r2modman has its own launch parameters per game under settings/debugging which is also where the doorstop parameters go for injecting mods. I assume other launchers have a similar setup.

As far as vanilla goes at this stage I'd be messing around with Autohotkey to see if F5 is working in general and send the keypress from some other source.

yeah not overly worried about it as most items I have needed had in game or mod work arounds.

I'll have to check it out but it looks like you could use that cron_job mod to fire off any command you need without console access. The specifics might be tricky.
