Valheim Dedicated Server - Mac
So I tried the Mac version of the Valheim Dedicated Server, since my wife and I like to play together in one world. This is what happened. YMMV. Caveat Empor. Yaddayadda.

I was in my small village in the meadows (one main base, a small hut, three buildings and a midsized long house, about 8100 instances), when a bird flew by me. Only it wasn't flying, it was warping in distances of two to three meters past me. Worst rubber-banding I've ever seen.

Another thing, when we both went to sleep it took almost a minute(!) for the night to pass. That lead to a raid event right in the morning, when the server decided I was still vast asleep. I could hear the raid happening, but still had a black screen and couldn't do anything.

Suffice it to say, my three hens were dead (Karin, Helga and Brigit, you will be missed. At least you can now fill my stomach).

So, I can say that the Mac version (at least for me) is very inefficient and slow and I can only recommend not to use it (unless you have no other option).

I then tried the Windows version of the dedicated server through CrossOver - and lo and behold! - it worked MUCH better. No unnatural long sleep periods, no warping seagulls.

Unfortunately, this means you will HAVE to run the Steam version of the game, because somehow PlayFab doesn't connect when running the App Store version. I'll give that a try again, though.

Just an FYI for you folks. I'd like to know what your experiences are with the Mac version of the Valheim Dedicated Server.

Cheers and have fun.
