This. Even Anakin Skywalker might have a hard time running the slalom of the grausten spires at high speed.
Thre are many seeds that you will need the Drakkar multiple times if you want to get the Dyrnwyn. Some seeds have the pieces on the same island but some can be WAY far away towards the edge of the map on isolated islands.
Might just be my luck with seeds though, but yeah my original post was too narrow. Thank you for reminding me
ashlands has made ships obsolete for the most part. you will barely be sailing anymore once you get to ashlands you might do 1-2 trips and that will be it for good aside for sailing over to a new landmass for some reason maybe to farm more iron maybe. but thats about it. and you dont need the drakkar for doing that.
aside from that youre playing portalheim for good past this point.
deep north might be 1 final sail but i doubt that there will be more than that. ships are done for now. maybe theyll add a new in between ship in plains tier someday just to fill the gap. but thats about it for ships. rest will never happen in vanilla. just no point to it.
there is videos of people sneaking into ashlands on a longship to grab the materials for the stone portal very early during progression. so there is barely any ship transport needed anymore nowadays.
This isnt extreme as the one I was looking for, but this one I am pretty sure you would need Drakkar for Dyrnwyn: RgMS7x7IxC
As opposed to this one which is one big Ashlands you would never need Drakkar for completion; f5zh3iXgyG

It also serves as a battleship (lol) when loaded with catapults, doing shore bombardment runs on outposts. The extra 14 slots are also very good.
its cons I have found so far are:
* It's very tanky (3xtimes more hp than longship) which is a plus, but when you want to deconstruct it you need to do chopping a lot more... this would have being solved if there was an efficient way for the ships to be parked safely.
* No way to customize it. Could be able to switch to a bigger sail like the one shown on the artwork.
* Can't go through streams or swallow water. It clearly screams "I was made for Ocean".
