Askvin Not Taming Solution for us
Hey all. Quick heads up on what worked for us.

We had a 4m-ish deep hole near a fortress and first Askvin tamed normally but as soon as it was tamed it jumped out, ran off and agro'd the nearby mobs and died before we could mate it.

So we dug down 8 or 10m and it would not even start the taming process. Google and restarted server, Hoe'd the floor flat etc no joy. Eventually we raised some nearby ground into a wall (about 4m x 8m inside dimensions, walls about 8m high) and that worked fine as a trap to tame another askvin with auto generated/unmodified floor as base in case it was somehow the area preventing taming (we clutching at straws by now).

I got Curious, so with the still untaming Askvin still in a deep pit, I built a dirt wall around the pit, and then raised the ground bit by bit until it was closer to the natural level. Then Hoe'd the ground flat once close to natural level and via some combination of the two, boom, taming started.

In future I will be using a Raise wall pit, if really short of stone I will just dig down once or twice, just build a ramp or some nice wood stairs up the side so the askvin can follow you to their new home.

TLDR; Take some Ritalin, but digging too deep was our problem, we built walls and raised the ground and the same creature was then taming, once closer to the natural ground level.
