Stone Portal can be connected with wood portals [#Edited]
I thought this new portal was supposed to allow metal through at the cost of being oversized and requiring ashlands cores to build on both sides. But it seems it can connect with forest tier small portals which seems to trivialize travelling.. more than expected.
First of all, I think having an end-game portal everything building was a nice idea, especially considering how far ashlands & deep north will be, so this would serve to save you from carrying all your stuff from one end of the map to the other...
But I don't like them carrying you everywhere without carefully setting a port network using your limited cores & ferrying the stonecutter there as this removes a lot of gameplay.
Thoughts?

Question: can you enter with ore on the 'wood side' of things?

Otherwise, I am already sitting on more cores than I really need. They are not hard to find and relatively plentiful. I suppose this is a bug, but I am not sure whether it is all that relevant.

So far, I have noticed you can't use the small portal end again with metal, but I think this still limits gameplay as you don't need to upgrade or replace the other side outpost most of the times or ferry a stonecutter to build it (depending on the situation). Idk if it's a bug.

The game solely checks the portal you are entering and the destination is no more than a destination. Which makes me question why they even added the rare metal drops in Ashlands. It is not like any of the new gear needs anything but Flametal and you can bring in the iron for a stone portal.. by bringing the cores back to your base with a wood portal and then building a stone portal there first. You do not need to go back with metal nor get there with any metal. Ashlands and its ship is a 1 way trip.

I also have like 2 stacks of cores. It is a bit weird that you get them both in the hole and the fortresses too, especially since fortresses are the main progression part. Makes the holes a bit meh after getting your first portal resources. At least they can be nice for Eitr users but.. most will probably have enough Eitr around from waiting for the Ashlands patch. Probably useful for some new characters though.
