How can I buy this game for a friend?
"Due to regional price differences..." currently stops me - even though the game is $3 cheaper in their area

I'm looking to discover any effective method that allows me to use my funds in my steam wallet to purchase this game for them.

Thank you =D

i am unsure if you even can do that.
does a vpn change the regional prices? because without it i think you are out of luck if you have money on your steam account

if you want to gift this game to friends you can normally select "buy for yourself" or "buy as a present"
if you buy a game as a present you will recieve a game as an Steam item wich can be gifted via the steam item menu
You can also buy a steam digital gift card and send the card to your friend's account and they can use the card to purchase Valheim (or any other steam game available in their country).

I don't appear to be able to buy a Steam digital gift card using my Steam account - only Visa M/C etc...

This does not appear to be an option either

The only option to gift it to your friends using Steam wallet funds is the „purchase as a gift“ option. Since it is blocked for you, there is no way to use your Steam wallet funds for said purpose.

Can't buy for friend
I wanted to buy this for my friend, but the $2 difference between Canada/USA was too much and resulted in "regional price difference" error.

So I bought them Planet Crafter and Satisfactory instead. LOL!

If I knew when the "magic" time was - when the regional pricing wasn't preventing the transaction - I'd happily buy it then. Hell - I'd pay double.

Meh

Got it. I bought them Satisfactory and Planet Crafter instead.

You can buy Steam gift cards for your friends to add money to their Steam wallet. I don't think that has the same problem, and they can buy the game themselves that way.

Dude, what the hell is wrong with you? Don't you see any difference between buying flowers for your gilrfriend and giving her money and telling:"Go and buy yourself some flowers."

Anyway, the price difference it sctually stupid.

I was merely pointing it out as an alternative option in this particular circumstance where Steam won't let you gift the game directly. If the OP's friend would be interested in playing Valheim with them, but is pinching pennies too much to buy any games themselves right now, the OP can communicate the situation and offer to give them a gift card to use on Valheim.
