Swamp with no dungeons?

I just found my first swamp and I know that the primary objective in the swamp is to find iron. I also know that the normal place for iron in muddy scrap piles in dungeons.

But... the swamp I found is pretty small and as far as I can tell it does not have a dungeon that I can open with my swamp key. It has a stone tower that could be converted into a base, there are a couple weird deformed vertical stones (that I assume have a purpose) and of course mobs and trees that I'm farming for an initial stockpile. I also came across a small mound on the surface that I haven't seen in other biomes.

So... I need advice:
1) Should I keep farming before moving on? For example, to make the mask that protects me from poison.
2) Is there any way to get iron from this small swamp? I somehow found 1 iron scrap, probably looted from a mob, but that method will likely be very slow.
3) Is there anything else worth doing here before moving on to search for a better swamp?
4) What is the best way to find another swamp besides traveling randomly on a boat?

1. If you get two abominations, you can make the mask but if it is a small swamp it might only have 1 and it would be better to move on.
   
2. Mounds may contain muddy scrap if you want to just randomly use a pickaxe but those piles are small even if you do find them.
   
3. If you feel confident and want to farm a spawner you might get the Draugr Elite trophy to unlock a pretty good weapon.
   
4. If you don't mind using the world generator[valheim-map.world] then it is the surest way to locate crypts. Otherwise, back to the ship

If you haven't found the turnip seeds yet, see if you can find a yellow flower there before moving on and then go back and grow some turnips. Other than that, I would look for another swamp, and there's really no better (normal) way other than just sailing around until you spot one.

if you can find 2 ironscrap you can atleast make the stonecutter already. the first 32 ironscrap should be used for these 3 things :

stonecutter. forge upgrade and allows stone building.
new ship. (100 nails) way better than the karve.
iron pickaxe. 20 iron. required to progress to silver.

There is Iron underground in some swamps as well. Need the wishbone to accurately find them, however you can 'prospect' and can get lucky finding some. Base of trees usually.

- I did find some turnips, will grow them.
- I don't think there is a spawner but I managed to get 2 Draugr trophies (it does not say "elite" on the trophy though, and I don't see it at bench or forge)... what is the name of the weapon you make with it?
- Will try my luck at those things that look like scrap piles.

Wishbone requires killing bonemass... I doubt I can do it with Bronze weaps.

But that stonecutter with only 2 iron sounds promising.

Draugr and draugr elite trophies are different items. One is not a substitute for the other.

If you found turnips and there is no surtling spawner move on. Find a swamp with crypts next.

A tip for swamp (or any biome). the best area for ressources are at boss markers, 2 of those . saves some exploring . usually 8 + crypts for iron each

This is good to know. I'm done with Iron in terms of upgrading my stations and gear, but I'd like some bigger storage. Back to the swamps!

Which also requires something you have to purchase from Haldor. Has he been found yet on this map?

Stone towers and ruined buildings are a good spot to find wraiths at night. And they drop chains, which you'll need a few of. Just make sure to snipe them from a distance at first.

Yes, I already found him, but I think I might need to find "something" to make it unlock what Haldor will sell.

An item is added to his inventory after you defeat the Elder. It's a component in a couple different weapons.
