stone wall
I have finished with all the enemy and started building a new area, For some reason I can't get a stray line of stone!, I am building a protective wall around my base but, it does not stay straight? I have built a base in each area of the map and never had this issue before, did something change? anybody?

Most of the stone building pieces in this game are imperfectly cut and can look pretty wonky and crooked on close inspection, if that's what you mean. But the overall structure should be a straight wall as long as you're not rotating any of the pieces.

Are you building an actual stone wall, or a dirt wall? If it's a dirt wall, the voxels have a natural "grid" they align to in the world. You can see this when you raise the ground there will be a preferred direction. If you follow this grid the dirt walls will be straight. If you raise them at an angle to the world grid they'll be chunky looking.

Oh i know this problem very very well... I enjoy building Circular buildings and... well... lets just simplify the process,, " build from the same direction" way to long to explain!!!
but a TLDR version is build from wood first as wood NEEDS to ONLY connect at two points unlike stone which when stacked CAN also connects at 8 points (please dont ask for me to explain) just try it
Build your wooden wall and then clad either side with stone )be careful when going up without wood framing) then recycle the wood when you are done GL HFun Skaal!

Above is a screenshot of the stone wall! I have raised the grown and try to put a wall around my base to keep the troll from destroying my base. For some reason it will not line up on this side of the base. Did something change or what I am not doing right? I have done this before and did not have this issue. Thanks guys for your suggestion, I will keep on trying!

Well, first you need to set the Visibility of that screenshot to Public (the dropdown to do so is in the infobox under the image), otherwise the rest of us just get an error.

You used the correct URL, you just need to make that one change.

It looks to me like the two are simply rotated 1/16th off from each other (building pieces can be rotated in 16 different directions, of course), though it's hard to know without seeing the entire wall from further out.

Okay, I can see how part of your wall is a half-meter higher/lower than the other part. The most likely event is that a wall piece snapped to the wrong snap-point or set itself at ground level some place where ground level was no longer the same.

Do a walk around your wall and pay close attention to how everything connects to each other. Try to find the other point where the same kind of thing as the screenshot is happening, assuming that you have a complete encirclement. You should be able to get an idea of what caused it to change altitudes.

The ground in the corner is not level. Try making the same level as the rest of the wall.

The Charcoal Kiln needs to be move slightly so that you can form a right angle corner with the wall. The wall needs to be in a straight line, not at a slight angle to path around the kiln.

in the pic (thnx for sharing helps alot) use wood along the bit where your head is and then add a piece to camera left.. ..as mentioned the kiln will make the stone or wood turn red.. cos u r in the same logical space. so EITHER move kiln OR turn wall 90* and then back 90 next piece to make a dog leg wall

+1 for starting with a wooden framework to snap onto. One billion percent easier.

yea once one piece snaps wrong but looks right, you can build for days before it rears its ugly head and makes a mess of your design. I think that is all you have going on here is a bad snap or, possibly, an unintended rotation.

there is a 'pave it' texture you can do to dirt walls that looks quite good if done carefully, and gives you indestructible 'stone' walls that are a better perimeter. I mean, do what you will, but repairing that beast after a few raids is going to be a lot of clicking.

The other thing that's worth doing with stone walls is setting up a temporary floor grid to line everything up with, especially if you're planning to use curved walls. Building a curved wall freehand will leave you like *four inches* off the grid at the other end, start with the two ends in position and let the curve pieces overlap a tiny bit where they meet instead.

Can you expand on that? I am at the point I have to build walls for defence against troll raids and am struggling with how to do this and make it look good!

Also, how do you stop them from invading on the water side if you build seaside with a dock setup?

Hi everyone, thanks for your input. I try everything but nothing work.!! I think, that was is going one is the location were I build. There was three small island and I just built up the grown . I also remove some of the other island area to make a large canal between my base and the other island, in the process, I must have done something that change the dynamic of the landscape and the game itself! So for now I am going to finish building my base and go back to it some other time! thank you all
