the yellow marker means : youre either too close or there is a fire source nearby.
a creature will only tame while its feed and is calm while a player is within LOADING range of the creature. you cannot portal away and expect it to work over time. you must stay near a tame for 30 minutes straight. thats how long it takes from 0% to 100 if its calm on average.
but tameing 0 star boars aint worth doing. only tier 1 and 2 are worth tameing so you get more meat drops.
If you try to tame 2 wolves in the same pen, an untamed wolf will kill a tamed wolf. Boars are probably the same.
Animals will not tame while frightened.
a raid can only occur at the tameing location if you had atleast 3 base structures nearby for no good reason (you only need a workbench there for building a pen or digging a hole). make sure you have a safe and secured base and do the tameing process outside of the bases range. boars are the worst tame to transport.
You can have as many critters being tamed simultaneously as you like.
As people have said- critters have to not be frightened in order to tame which means they cant see you, and boars cannot be near fire. Tame boars dont care about fire, but wild boars are afraid of it. Wolves and loxes dont care about fire, regardless.
Tames vs raids or just generally roaming critters- Its a good idea to have at least 1 pair of each type of tamed creature you have kept in a protected location- that means in a pit or an enclosure with raised-earth walls, with a full roof high enough that an ooze on top of it cant poison them, walls thick enough that an ooze beside it cant poison them, and for preference a second earth wall 6m away so that shamans and log trolls cant hit them from the far side of it.
