Where is all the Flametal?

I've searched a land area equal to about one-eigth of the total area of my world's entire Ashlands biome, and in all the lava pools I can find so far, there isn't a single Flametal ore rock.

They're not very big lava pools. I've seen bigger ones in the videos I've watched. But the lava pools don't seem to be getting much bigger as I work my way toward the center of the biome. So far the Flametal just isn't there.

Do new Flametal ore nodes ever respawn? Is there a chance some might spawn in the lava pools I've searched so far? Should I double back and re-check the ones I've already looked at?

I'm playing in a world that was first generated before the Mistlands update. Could that be the problem?

Just keep exploring, if you cant find the nodes than try looting a dwarf camp in the ashlands.

The Flametal nodes looks like giant pillars within the lava pools. You can get Flametal from Fortresses and a very small amount from the Devrgr camps as well.

i can assure you, unless you had explored that area before PTB, the fact it was generated pre mistlands should mean nothing as my world is also an old one.

if you cant find any flametal pillars there should be some in forts and sometimes dverger will have camps with some crates in them. they can have flametal but not much.

i have found pillars incredibly close to safe edges of lava pools but those pools/flows were actually fairly large relatively.

if you want the assurance your world definitely has some i could take your seed and take a look for you in godmode, i'll tell you if they are there but not where to look if that keeps it exciting enough

Have you been exploring only round the east or west edges of the ashlands? I think the land out there forms smaller islands and I think you need a certain amount of land for large lava areas as they may need to be in a bit from the coast. In the centre of the southern region, you may find larger landmasses with larger lava lakes and more flametal.
