Warhorse Studios first announced that they were working on an "unannounced role-playing game" on 9 February 2012, having successfully licensed CryEngine 3 on this date. After seventeen months working on the prototype, Warhorse began a tour pitching the prototype to various international investors.
On 22 January 2014, Warhorse Studios launched a crowdfunding campaign via Kickstarter with the goal of generating £300,000, ten percent of the US$5,000,000 budget, in order to prove to investors that there was an audience and desire for the game. By 20 February, the effort had raised a total of £1,106,371. Even after the end of the Kickstarter campaign, crowdfunding was continued through the studio's website. On 1 October 2014, Daniel Vávra announced through a YouTube video that the game had raised US$2,002,547 from a total of 38,784 backers. The date of the public alpha access launch was on 22 October 2014. The beta was released for backers on 3 March 2015. On 29 September 2016, it was announced that Warhorse Studios had signed a deal with Koch Media's game publishing division Deep Silver to publish the console versions as well as the retail PC version.
The game was released worldwide on 13 February 2018. A day-one patch was released with an extensive update of the game code and gameplay. The game reportedly cost 750 million crowns, approximately $36.5 million USD, including marketing costs.
according to your logic, it's fine because other gamedev studios do it, but what about this instance? idk man, seems kind of dishonest.
I know the story. I'm proud to say that I was one of the early backers of Kingdom Come Deliverance. Warhorse set a fine example of creating an original game and delivering it completely finished.
Still, you know what you're getting into when buying early access. This game isn't finished, but the biomes that we already have feel finished to me. There's also no grand story that needs a finale. I've spend many more hours in this unfinished game than in many finished games that were much more expensive (Starfield anyone?). As far as I'm concerned, they could have wrapped it up after Mistlands.
To answer the OP: yes, it's fine by me. I don't have the feeling that I'm waiting for a finished game, but that I'm getting a free DLC one in a while.

I never buy for future patches, I always buy the game for what it is at the time. You are just donating your money otherwise.
Later content blows the early access release content out of the water.
They have zero interest in going back to earlier content to adress it. Despite having done so with the Swamp, Mountain (which got the most love) and plains.
This means that at the earliest we can hope to see the actual content already in the game before Mistlands being fixed and rebalanced + some actual meat for Meadows and Black Forest is like late 2026/Summer 2027...
Typically you balance and fix ♥♥♥♥ before you add more content. But meh. Deep North's release is basically guaranteed to make them call Valheim 1.0 when it's far from it, with balance being one.
Some Examples:
Troll Armor is more usefull and stronger than Bronze Armor when time investment etc are taken into account. It can even give Iron Armor a run for the money.
The Second you get a Iron Club, all skeletons (not talking about mini-bosses and ashlands) in the game become a total joke and pose zero danger to you.
Root Harnesk is OP and takes the Deathsquito from "Oh ♥♥♥♥ you annoying little... YOU DIED" to "Lmfao was there even a insect here? *Kills a fuling in peace". Slash the pierce resistance it gives in half.
You never need to play anything other than a club and Aetgir all the way until you fight the Queen in the Mistlands.
Oceans are still dead and empty.
Sailing is pure unfun because it's basically a afk waiting game.
Still no proper large gates.
TL;DR Early game content is lacking, game is unbalanced.
Artists don't work that way. mist won't be removed. they would have already. live or die with decisions
