What is the strongest weapon in the ashlands
I'm asking just out of curiosity to hear what people consider to be the best one overall from what ive experienced so far though, its the mist-walker due to elemental damage

probably mistwalker, but i think frostner is also very effective. frostner has very high knockback, which is good when you want it, and annoying when you dont.

spear is effective against the askvin. ive hit many backstabs on idles.

demolisher is effective against density. general density, spawners, fortresses, kiting groups up a rock ledge and then blasting them off.

edit: i am enjoying the shock mace as a main weapon. it does all jobs. with the control of the knockback and the occasional chain lightning, you can put out some good DPS against groups. demolisher is still best against density, though, as the chain lightning is unreliable.

In general magic, specifically frost staff - although fire one does okayish job as well, surprisingly [most of] mobs are NOT resistant to fire. Mistwalker is okay if you have melee skills. GOOD skills, like proper ones with ALOT of practice - otherwise pain and misery. Maxed crossbow with bolts made of charred bones (pretty much their only intended use, esp. with the amount dropped) also does respectable job, with 500-600+ damage numbers for sneak hits. Later on invest into dual axes and enchant them with BLUE stone - you wont regret it. Happy fighting!..

they just released an update and changed some stats on ashlands weapons finally and fixed the lighting one not showing its hidden proc on tooltip.

I have been using Frostner mainly and Himminafl for crowd control. Havent really run into a situation I cannot control with that combo......... My goal will be electric mace also, on this build, but so far I do not have the mats to have it replace frostner.

Demolisher has the disadvantage of making you very slow. Is Krom viable in Ashlands?
Nerevar (Banned) Apr 28, 2024 @ 5:22am
krom is slow and pure phys dmg. mistwalker is by far the best starting weapon vs 1 target. vs a crowd the 3 options are : himmin afl spin to win. demolisher. or staff of embers. (the staff does blunt dmg aswell as fire. its not super good vs the fire based enemies but not all of the enemies resist fire and its ranged aoe on top which is VERY helpful if you use the terrian)

you can use krom of course. but itll not be the best choice in anyway. some form of aoe dmg is very very helpful in this biome.

I've been having a hard time with demolisher in Ashlands since it attracts more enemies, himmin seems to be a better option.

I was quite surprised by the weakness of all the new magic weapons... I don't really know what the devs thought those weapons would be good for, but none of them is good... Ember and Frost staff being still the superior magic user weapons... so I would say, Frost and Ember right after it are best... other than that, the Mistwalker, Frostner, magic atgeir and maybe the lightning gem enhanced flametal weapons.

All the charred type enemies are 1,5X weak to spirit while many others are neutral so I have to say that for 1v1 or small groups the silver sword is very good contender for go to weapon from earlier game choices. Mistwalker is also very close dealing less damage but having the frost effect. Also the good old frostner still rocks and it has the knockback. For larger crowds either himminafl, demolisher or frost staff. For range spinesanp plus frost arrows or arbalest

If I had to pick one, it would be berserkir ax. It has the highest dps and best motion.

Assuming that the situation varies depending on the enemy, the mist-walker is a good weapon, but sprit damage is DOT(Damageovertime) damage, so it cannot deal damage all at once, so it takes some time to stagger the enemy or kill the enemy. So, the new sword that came out this time is better to use.

If you use it in practice rather than theory, the Ashland weapon is better. However, mist-walker has a clear speed reduction effect, so it is often useful when catching large monsters.

Pre-Ashlands Weapons: Mistwalker or Himmefel

Ashlands: Any of the Jade Poison upgraded weapons (Berserker Axes, Nidhogg or Mace) for one and ONLY ONE reason: the 5 second rooting effect also affects Fader (Boss). 5 seconds of stun on mobs and bosses is insanely useful.

Once you take out a few of the Charred Fortresses you'll amass several ruby (lightening) and jade (poison) gems that can be used in the Black Forge to upgrade the ashlands weapoons. This is where the balancing begins between you and the endless ash mobs as these weapons do indeed make a difference.

Ashlands Fader Boss: Take the Demolisher with you just for one off hits to clear spawned mobs in a single shot.

I switched from Mistwalker to silver sword. Spirit damage is effective.
