spear is effective against the askvin. ive hit many backstabs on idles.
demolisher is effective against density. general density, spawners, fortresses, kiting groups up a rock ledge and then blasting them off.
edit: i am enjoying the shock mace as a main weapon. it does all jobs. with the control of the knockback and the occasional chain lightning, you can put out some good DPS against groups. demolisher is still best against density, though, as the chain lightning is unreliable.
you can use krom of course. but itll not be the best choice in anyway. some form of aoe dmg is very very helpful in this biome.
Assuming that the situation varies depending on the enemy, the mist-walker is a good weapon, but sprit damage is DOT(Damageovertime) damage, so it cannot deal damage all at once, so it takes some time to stagger the enemy or kill the enemy. So, the new sword that came out this time is better to use.
If you use it in practice rather than theory, the Ashland weapon is better. However, mist-walker has a clear speed reduction effect, so it is often useful when catching large monsters.
Ashlands: Any of the Jade Poison upgraded weapons (Berserker Axes, Nidhogg or Mace) for one and ONLY ONE reason: the 5 second rooting effect also affects Fader (Boss). 5 seconds of stun on mobs and bosses is insanely useful.
Once you take out a few of the Charred Fortresses you'll amass several ruby (lightening) and jade (poison) gems that can be used in the Black Forge to upgrade the ashlands weapoons. This is where the balancing begins between you and the endless ash mobs as these weapons do indeed make a difference.
Ashlands Fader Boss: Take the Demolisher with you just for one off hits to clear spawned mobs in a single shot.
