It's hilarious.
Which is mountains at that point and Flesh Rippers are plenty great for taking out fulings until you can get something better.
Underrated skill, saves you a ton of time and resources if you don't want to bother with weapon crafting for a bit.
itll be a new BOOT weapon and its tooltip will read "THIS" "IS" " VALHEIM"
What do you mean enough damage until you are past swamps?
I'd wager the time you waste not killing enemies completely offsets the time required to craft a weapon...
Are you casually punching bonemass to death because you are bored?
just collect 6 wood and craft a club that does twice as much damage un-upgraded if you're too lazy?
Idk, I've never bothered to check math or values.
All I know is my fists do around 50-60 damage a hit I think.
Equipping a club basically makes me do less damage, which is a bit silly.
You either have a VERY modded game or you are reading the damage numbers very wrong.
That's the damage the fenris claws would do, an unarmed fist hit does at most 5 or 10 damage a hit (depending on the hit chain) at skill level 75.
edit: maybe your game settings are on easy but even that wouldn't make you do 10x the damage.
I think you are reading too much into how I'm saying it. I merely stated my experience. I have no mods that change how unarmed damage works. My game has all regular modifiers except raids are disabled.
I did overestimate my damage though, I do around 25-50 with 1st-2nd punch.
I also forgot that Fenris armor further enhances your unarmed damage by 15 skill levels, so you can do even more.
I can do around the same damage as a Tier 3, maybe 4, Iron Mace.
So that's why I can punch my way through Mountains.
With Flesh Rippers that are tied to Unarmed Skill, I can do pretty high damage with them, not sure how high. I know that with just Fenris Blessing and Fists I can hit for 120+ on 2nd punch against a Stone Golem.
But in Plains I'm currently working to get a Shield and some one-hander, since Flesh Rippers don't really have enough parry bonus to compete with the mobs there.
Also Fleshrippers have 6x Dmg Backstab Bonus which can often be used without sneaking. Just run towards enemies that havent spottet you and deal like 400 dmg with first hit, its pretty fun and works well with incredible move speed. Fleshrippers dont slow you down and Fenris Set even gives a total of 9% movement speed.
nah. Played with knives until I used fleshrippers for the first time. Knives are trash unless you use silver and only fight undead ^^
He ist talking about fistweapons, not unarmed. I didnt mod a thing and didnt change any settings and have the same numbers on first hits without backstab bonus.
I once farmed spawners in swamp skilling every weapon types including fists. those are the 2 that had zero benefit compared to others for melee on a same tier. In fact flesh rippers and wc axes are prone to get you killed
Something has changed how the fists skill works in your game without you realizing, then.

The max damage fists can do from level 75 to 100 normally is 5, so the skill isn't really underrated for most players. It's always been considered pretty worthless for a reason, with the frost caves update giving it some minor value for a time.
He is talking about unarmed. He said fists deal around 25 to 50 damage on the first to second hit, then said that he can hit with flesh rippers for over 120 damage on the second hit against a golem (which has 50% resistance to the slash damage of flesh rippers, so he should have even higher damage against other enemies), so there is a clear distinction being made there between his damage with unarmed fists and his damage with flesh rippers.
