Can I ask why?

Because merch, that's why.

Plushies of that size go for 10-130€, depending on the material, quality and where it was produced (and under what conditions). Did they state anywhere how they procure their merchandise?
Edit: Just checked, the company Grimfrost seems to be producing locally, not overseas, which is probably the main reason for the higher pricetag.

The company that makes the plushies has a website. Its a viking themed retailer. And... the plushies they sell on their site aren't nearly as expensive and the quality looks identical.

Here is a raven two pack for 31 dollars that is on sale for less. These characters appear in the game but the website isn't associating them with Valheim. So I guess if you sell them as Valheim merchandise you can triple or quadruple the price.

i mean ARE those even remotely associated with valheim? Odin has a pair of two ravens that spy for him in the mythology AFAIK, so just because its "two ravens" doesnt inherently link it to valheim at all, especially considering its a viking heavy store anyway. i would side with "no" since they arnt colored remotely like the valheim ravens? not that that validated valheim branded stuff being double the price or anything. just worth a mention

That's why I never shoot them.

The ravens they are selling are the same characters but not Valheim themed, just generic Viking merch.

Better be handmade by Frost Giant maidens for seventy bones.

Those ravens are 20 cm in size. The lox is 60 cm. That's 3 times the size for 2.5 times the price. Compared to the general plushie market[www.jellycat.com], that's not a bad price[www.jellycat.com].

Because people were asking for Lox plushies probably. There's a sense in the patch note threads that people think licensing a merch company is somehow using up game development time. O.o

The quality looks very good, but I could not bring myself to spend $28 for the troll head key ring!

there must be gold flakes in the stuffing, no way a stuffed animal is worth anywhere near that much lol

the lox bridle is genuine 2 star boar leather.
so when i google 60cm plushies i find pokemon plushs for 90+ bucks and others with low quality for around 30+ for me the price is absolutely ok. i'm not buying them cause i don't need them but the price would be fair... sure you can get cheap ♥♥♥♥ from china for less but the quality tanks hard

Shhhhhh! The entire global economy is dependent on people buying over priced junk they don't need, are you trying to cause a collapse or something?

there is one born every minute.
Stuff like this... you see it, and you want it. Then you get the sticker shock. So while a few ... erm.. people with more money than sense buy them at the derp price, the next bit of marketing genius is what really gets the suckers. After letting it sit for 4, 6 months at 80 bucks, they will have a "sale" where it is "only" 50 bucks instead. The actual materials consumed and effort put in is probably $5, so they "only" make 45 bucks off you this way, instead of 75. But they still come out ahead, and you have some clutter that will end up in the trash or the thrift shop in 5 years.
