Mind, wood will generally not decay in the mountain biome owing to the fact it does not rain there. Wood materials will not decay below 50% health from weathering.
no more farming in the rain. no more fog inside your house.
downside : requires fuel to keep running.
upside : the fuel is BONES.
Yes, you can mod the game if you like - but you can also progress to the penultimate biome to unlock tech to prevent weathering. Since mods can and will break with every patch to the production build, if you are hyperfocused on a large-scale build that can potentially interrupt your plans.
Up to you if you want to mod, deal with the in-game weather effects, and/or play through to Ashlands.
