Can be a pain but also very fun be careful :) and also if you can you can pen in another one preferably a 2 star but not necessary(just will breed 2 star babies more often) then you can breed them
I lure them into the base close the door , then throw a stack of meat down. Then I sit up top in a throne by the fire until they tame.
Bonus points if you can do this by finding a stone tower the game spawned then you only need to repair half of a building.
Last time I had 2 lower starred wolves with me near the taming hole to keep stray greydwarves off of me while I was afk and because wolves don't attack other wolves regardless of tamed or not. Feed the 2 star wolf so it starts getting tamed.
i build a small cabin by the base of the mountain and dig a pit in the snow within eye site of the cabin. once i trap the wolf in there i just throw a stack of 20 boar meat in and sit idle facing them. should be tame after 2-3 in game nights.
