Do the dreams in this game have any sort of meaning?

You know how sometimes when you sleep in this game you get those texts that read your character's dreams? Either something like "you and this stupid kid you find in the snow", or "you're eating with a bunch of other Viking people in a big hall", why are those there? Are they supposed to tell small bits of some kind of lore or are they really just ... dreams?

They are flavor text only. They don't even give hints the way the rune stones do.

Thanks, dude. This stuff confused me a ton, but it's a great detail that I love. Sometimes, I
really think about what they read. Sometimes they give me the creeps, other times they give me this melancholy feeling. Again, I love that little detail.

I agree. Some dreams are clearly somewhat distorted remnants of the past as our viking was still alive and roaming the world of Midgard, others could've been a portent of things to come as you progress in the game. Even if that didn't work out, I still like them.
