What does cold mean?

I know, seems obvious, but early on when I was playing I walked a little too close to the camp fire at night and had to bolt for the ocean while on fire. The game told me, for the umpteenth time, that I was "cold". While engulfed in flames.

So obviously cold does not mean physically cold - this has left me in a bit of a quandary. Does it mean "without empathy" or "emotionally distant"?

On that note, I'm getting a little annoyed at the game since it often implies that I've been coddled to the point of naivety and am ill prepared for the world, by telling me that I'm "sheltered".

The cold part means your cool as hell

It's a debuff associated with certain non-personal atmospheric conditions. So salty.

Being cold lowers the rate at which your health and stamina regenerate.

its just a night time debuff that reduces stamina regen by a hell of a lot.
and sheltered is just letting you know you are resting towards a rested bonus.

you can look at whats what in the status window. i cant remember how to get there but its there somewhere.

be prepared for the worst time of your life if you are wet cold and unrested. you can drown in a fricking puddle if your not careful lol
and fighting is horrendous you swing like 3 times and your tapped out for a whole minute. cant run away cant block cant attack. its a rough time lol

sheltered is from rain or weather, nothing else.

needs a campire to enable comfort.

sleep at night to nullify cold, until you get warm clothes in future biomes,

Just wear a wolf cape and you will soon miss knowing you used to be cold.
