Tıps on swamp. How to slay a Abomination?

Thank you guys so much for your previous tips on sailing! Now I am comfortable with it.
Now please tell me how to deal with abomination. I am fine with running away from it, but it seeks out and destroys my boats, portals, and workbenches. Now I build my portals in biomes neighboring swamps, but that prevents me from deep expeditions.
Now I want to be able to slay abomination. It doesn't seem to have particular weaknesses to anything, I don't understand its hitbox and it kills me in 3 hits. And can barely chip it's healthpool. SO what do I do?

Use an axe, attack the legs, you can block it's attacks. Another option is spam fire arrows at it, keeping your distance. You can also use the atgeir, if you have the stamina, the special attack will stun lock it. Good luck.

try to parry and if succes hit with axe but twice only...rinse and repeat

You can build on top of crypts. Portals......etc and he cannot reach. You can get up on top also and hit him with fire arrows, just always stay on opposite side.

Also trolls work really well. Lead the Abomo out to one in black forest or the troll into black forest.

Run under it. You can parry the attacks and follow up with an axe. Alternatively, fire arrows work wonders, but it takes a bit more time.

If you want to use fire to kill one, just lure it over a vent
fire arrows are trash vs abominations

Swords are way better than axes to kill them, but axes are good too.
Your first thing in the swamp should be to kill enough abominations to craft their set, which negates any damage in the swamp that is most likely to kill you (piercing and poison)

Use your first Iron for the Banded Shield. It gives you enough block force to parry the arm attacks with deer stew, carrot soup, boar jerky combo for food and around 30ish skill points to block. With an axe from here it's an easy fight once you learn it's attack patterns. Just be sure to avoid it's middle attack where it smashes the ground with it's head with this set up.

set up a dock outpost bro you can have more then one bed as a spawn.
and if your at the swamp you should be able to set up a portal as well.

alot of going into new biomes is your preparedness. it can either be easy or incredible difficult and the swamp is the first real test on the player for this.

Fire arrows make it pretty easy. Those things are slow and their attacks are very slow. You can easily move out of the way and shoot more arrows. I found these things to be far easier than trolls.

I'm in the swamps now and I just flatten all the ground so you have easy paths to run around on. Make a little circle and you can run around that fighting abominations and such.

Stand on top of a crypt and use an axe. The abomination will not be able to hit you.

I have to assume all the axe recommendations are from mace users. It doesn't have any special weakness that I know of to axe, and I suspect (although I not going to do the math) that the mace would still do more damage using the secondary attack. The secondary of a sword after a parry (and it's easy to parry), will do far more damage and take it down in very few hits.

That said, as others have said, you're perfectly safe on top of a crypt, and fire arrows do the most damage per arrow due to the fire damage, but I don't think that stacks, so I suppose it's possible to take it down faster with other arrows that you might have at that level, since you don't have to wait for the fire damage to do maximum affect.

Also, as others have said, luring it over fire vents works very well, of course, but that requires that there is one nearby and that you've stopped spawns on it, unless you want to deal with surtlers while you've fighting the abomination.

I usually just stand on a crypt and hit it with fire arrows, or lead it into a neighboring biome if there's one nearby. When I'm in iron gear, I'll just parry-jab it, which is much quicker.

Building a house just to raid a sunken grave seems like such a tedium, but I guess that's the nature of this game.

I do build houses in different areas, just because I like doing it, but for a quick run-in-grab-stuff-run-out, you really just need a workbench and a portal. That's how I'm doing it, when traveling about with the boat.

Very quick to do and if you have a portal at home without a tag, it's even quicker, as the portal will immediately connect to it.

They all suggest an axe , which is the slowest and worst weapon in general.

Make a bronze or iron sword instead. Fire arrows are also an option for abobinations.

Build everything on top of crypts, you just need a portal, workbench, box ,etc. Not a house
