The ground is shaking...
Every time this event happens, trolls spawn inside my sealed build areas. Literally have stone walls around them & cliffs enemies cannot climb, yet trolls magically spawn inside & immediately wipe out all my tamed animals.
I really don't mind losing some progress when I make a poor choice or just aren't playing well. Learn from them, make the corpse run, and improve. But events like "the ground is shaking..." that break rules & cheat players out of hours of progress make the game not worth playing.

Anyone else experience this? The other events take place normally, including smelly swamp event - enemies spawn outside base walls as expected & I run out to purge them. Trolls are effing magic I guess. Not difficult to kill, but they one shot my tamed animals.

Build workbenchs in these areas , there are still spawn point for raids even if you did a wall or a moat

Yup, workbenches. I had goblins pop up in my base and I found a small spot you could jump over that wasn't covered by a workbench. Died twice because of it.

workbenches don't help, raids will always spawn at the outside of the red area and walk in from there. If your walls cover too wide an area they won't protect against a raid

naa thats untrue, spawn radius is approx 160 m from player at raid start.

you can completely prevent spawns by scattering full bench coverage over that area.

As long as the benches cover all the space within the walls it will prevent spawns inside the walls.

I had this problem, not realizing that the white dotted line showing workbench radius are also the spawn blocking radius. Make sure the dotted line is outside the perimeter of your walls.

Ahhh...I did just move a couple workbenches near my animal pens. Completely overlooked coverage in that area. Thank you!

i think benches wont block event spawn ,ive got enemies spawning literally at my workbench in event time ...

Complete coverage of workbench effect radius is one of the only effective methods of eliminating spawns, including those from event invasions (campfire & ward also work). Complete enclosure of an area by walls does nothing to deter spawns. I thought I had my boar/wolf pen blanketed, until I found some deer parts inside. I had missed a very small area and the deer was spawning on top of my wall. I use workbenches liberally, and only place wards outside my entrances. As well as preventing spawn wards increase material structure strength, so a gate that a troll could bring down with one blow now takes him 3+ to bust up.

I have found the most effective method of protecting my base from damage due to an invasion raid event, it to beeline it outside, over the walls to the edge of the event radius (red circle on minimap). I have built killing pits there to engage the enemies to ensure my 100% survival every time.
