Found a 2 Star Asksvin!

I found a 2 Star Asksvin, led him back to my pre-built kennel made of raised stone with vineberries. Got him in there! I went to grab my hoe from a chest in the base right next to the kennel. When i got out it was daytime and he vanished?... Valheim likes to just destroy my happiness.

Keep him in Render Line of sight. 2 star that spawn at night are night spawns and for the saftey of the game are despawned so you dont have night spawned mobs killing noobs. So long as its on your screen should not despawn.

You need to get the taming process started during that night you found it or otherwise it will despawn in the morning.

Ive had night spawns despawn within draw distance so try to remain close by until they start eating.

And they only start eating at night , so if you haven't given it food before dawn break , may as well stay near it till next night fall .

I have a question, does the spawn of a two-star askswin not depend on ordinary askswins? for example, if there are asksvins in a certain area, do they not interfere with the spawn of 2 stars at night? or should I kill them to increase the chances for 2 stars?

Guess for me it happened that I built an enclosure with roof, and once food and 2-star askwin was inside I fully closed it all-over.

However of note that once tamed, I added to enclosure a previous tamed 1-star askwin, hopping to get several 2 star eggs ( should be something like 50/50 chance). Waited for a while, but no eggs at all were produced.
Guess I'll try closing/walling the room again, to solve the line of sight issues. I really want some 2-star guards at my main base :)

Same as the 2 star wolves, I've spent so much time running around mountains in the dark, have caught 2, same thing happened, even putting a roof on didnt help. You need to find them early, dig a hole as soon as you see them, then block, or kick them in. Got my first 1 star Asksvin the other night.

I found my only 2 star very early on in my Ashland journey. I was still on my landing portal/small base and hadn't built any upgrades yet. I ran back to my base and dug a hole, then ran back to the Asksvin. He was still there, no issues. I started to bring him back as the dawn rolled in and he chased a skeleton to the other side of one of those black pillars and disappeared. It wasn't far away at all, and I never saw one again.

asksvin can spawn with stars at anytime of day. they arent like wolves at all in that regard.

asksvin can spawn with stars at anytime of day. they arent like wolves at all in that regard.

The Wiki says otherwise:

Similar to the Wolf, Level 3 (two-star) Asksvins only spawn at night. Like any creatures spawned at night, Level 3 Asksvins will attempt to flee the active area and de-spawn during daytime hours if the taming process has not begun. This can be prevented by either (A) trapping them in a pit or pen that they cannot escape (and staying within 64 meters of them) or (B) by starting the taming process, after which they will never de-spawn.

I have seen 2* at night and never during the day. Do you have anything to back yup your claim? If not, stop spouting nonsens and misleading players.

In my case, the 2 stars respawn always at night at the same place (I don't know the respawn delay).
I Have some spot on my map to know where I can find them. Just wait and search at night where you find it the first time.
