Mac Valheim Wold and Character Saves Location?
Hello! I can't seem to find location for saves of worlds and characters on the Mac version?
I am trying to move over my old ones into the new app.

I had used the excellent port by Tim Kurvers until now.

Also curious to see if any mods are going to be working on the Mac version too. If anyone has found the folders please let me know!

First test has incredible performance. Excited to play it some more locally on the Mac.

if it hasn't changed, google says its in a hidden folder called the user library, inside something there called containers.

I also have a problem transferring my local saves from build by Tim Kurvers - the game doesn't see them

I found
/Users/YOUR_NAME/Library/Application Support/com.coffeestain.valheim

That's for cloud saves, not local.

Ok, slowly:

For Tim Kurvers build it was:
/Users/YOURUSER/Library/Application Support/unity.IronGate.Valheim-macOS-Custom

For App Store build it is:
/Users/YOURUSER/Containers/Valheim/Data/Library/Application Support/com.coffeestain.Valheim

For Steam build it is:
/Users/YOURUSER/Library/Application Support/com.coffeestain.Valheim

Mind, this is ONLY for local saves, NOT cloud saves (which you should not use, due to different reasons, but I digress).

Edit: The App Store version does not support cloud saves, as that would've eaten into the iCloud storage space. Many users only have the default option of 5GB and IronGate deemed that to be too low to use it.

Edit2: @Rin - You should be able to just move the content(!) of the folder "unity.IronGate.Valheim-macOS-Custom" into the "com.coffeestain.Valheim" folder. It should definitely work. I tried it with both the Steam and the App Store version.

@electricdawn That's how I did it. I just came by to post for those who are having trouble finding the right folder.

@Arki, yes the folder name for the Steam version eventually changed on my Mac from "com.coffeestain.valheim" to "Irongate" with another folder "Valheim" in it.

Not sure why it did that. *shrug* Oh well...

Thanks for the clear and detailed explanation! This is incredibly helpful.
