Asksvin roaming off
I will preface this with saying that I love Ashlands, well done DEVs! One minor point though is given the effort it takes to find and tame 2 star Asksvin, it would be nice if they had a stay command like the wolves. After dumping about 20 of these around my Ashlands and plains bases, they just roam off and disappear. With wolves I can keep them in fairly tight areas and if they die off I can replace them easily enough. If not a stay command then give them a defined roam radius after being tamed.

I gave up on them immediately once i realized my 5 flametal saddle was jjsut gonna run 500meter away into the middle of a lava field chasing mobs... they didn't really tune this biome like the others - felt rushed.

did you also notice the asksvin will stack up endlessly when you have them in a pen if they detect a enemy mob 30meters away on other side of wall? They will do a World War Z zombie style stack up on the corner of the pen - even if it's like 30meters tall they will still stack up and stack up and stack up like 10 high and finally start getting out of the pen over the edge of the wall.

Someone did a very lazy coding job on this.

make a proper pen and they wont run off.

that beeing said if they add the wolf commands to them we have a perfect tame in every way. only way to surpass that would have to be a rideable FLYER in deep north. anything else wouldnt be worth going for anymore given its final biome.

I pen would certainly work but I want them defending. At my mountain base I have maybe 50 2 star wolves positioned all around it and they stay there and pretty much kill off anything that gets close.

well asksvins arent meant to defend your base apparently. otherwise they would have these commands. instead you can ride them and they also fight and attack with you on top. couldnt do that with wolves.

just use the new spikes for defense. they do so much dmg they can even kill trolls without much trouble. and they dont kill fps like 100 tames do.

I don't want them anywhere near my main base. They are not house trained.

I just tamed my 5th one for it to die almost instantly. My 1 star success is still sitting lonely.

Along with all the buggy mess that they are this last time I was just returning on my saddle only to be tapped once by a non-star mob... this made my mount stop, face the enemy, refuse to move until he was dead by a group following.

Good to see they last 2 seconds and bug out every time. If people have success then good for them, I do everything right to be screwed over by odd behaviour of the mobs.

And this was after having a Morgen and Valk, plus 5 other Ashlizards and the charred.. all appearing on my head as no torments near. Must have just tipped into night hence the insane spawn rate, but working out the time after spending 30 minutes taming is not too easy since everywhere is dark anyway.

Screw it. Just started again and as I run to my "pen" area with a 1 star the game disconnects me.

Yeah, screw taming. Bit of extra fluff but otherwise niche and sort of pointless for the effort.

I hope one day they can make tame act like ARK tame , no more wandering off .

First, congratulations on taming a 1-star. I settled for a mating pair of 0-star but keep my breeding pen of their offspring back in the Meadows. The breeding pen just produces eggs and these can be brought back to the Ashlands for missions - usually suicidal - that I prefer not to face alone. As @Nerevar and others have shared, a large mob of tamed asksvin - especially his 2-star or your 1-star - can make short work of Fader and content channels have other suggestions besides. But I do wish the developers would pick up the suggestion that came up with lox saddles to add some cargo capacity to the saddle similar to the ships.

Agree on the Lox saddle upgrade - at the moment it seems that Askvins are just better Loxes

wait imagine the whole boss arena filled with 1 stars. that'd be hilarious!

To be fair, in my group, we didn't found single 2* asksvin in the ashlands.

They're a tame, of course they'll be painful, I moved lox to my base by longboat, I know tames, lol. I use them as base defence, just breed em and push them out. I was using wisp torches to try slow down the ashlands spawns, but now reckon an Asksvin horde is better, easy farming, and the food is easy to get.
