Had the same thought already
try the little shoots / scrubs. The big ones are going for a ride in that terrain but the small ones just drop a piece or two of wood without the logging.
for ygg and ancient bark it makes sense. they are hardly used for much in regards to building overall compared to core/wood/ashwood. its pretty much impossible to run out of them. and they arent hard to aquire at all. ygg trees grow in so many places where there is no water at all. so thats kinda irrelevant. and logs float anyway.
for ashwood its a bit oddball indeed.
as for the tc : frost arrows are better than charred ones anyway for the biome given the pierce resist abundance on nearly every enemy.
Difficulty is to chop without gathering armies
Tried melee/range again today . Almost unplayable in solo . I don't think mage is OP,...its actually the only way to get even with mobs in ashlands.
But my big hammer says something completely different...
