How to unlock forge

I beat the first boss and even got copper and tin from the black forest. However I don't see the forge as an option to be built or crafted (even though I'm pretty sure its built not crafted i still checked). Haven't played for years did something change?

Requires: stone, copper, coal, and wood.

I believe to unlock a recipe you need one of all the ingredients to create it. So as Suzuku says you need to create a copper ingot.

not copper ingot, just copper mine or tin

You say you have copper and tin, have you made a furnace yet? If not then remember you need surt cores from dungeons in the forest.

Forge - 4 Stone x4 Coal x10 Wood so you cn make a furnace
Furnace- 5 surtling cores 20 stone. to make ingots

ya im looking for the forge to start with. Got all the coal stone and wood and still dont have the blueprint

go into the burial chambers and loot a surtling core to unlock the recipe

You need a furnace before you can make the forge, get surtling cores

Copper = smelted Copper, not Ore. You need to make a Smelter (requires 20 Stone, 5 Surtling Cores, and a nearby Workbench) and process some of your ore. As soon as you touch that first finished bar, the Forge recipe should unlock.
