i really want a game like this so much but why graphics are so bad? is 2024 we have so much technology, why is even worst than a mobile game graphics?
also why no option for 1st person view?

I think about 70% of the effort in this game went into the swaying tree-tops, and the waves. And about 20% went into the onion seedlings.

It's the game's style. It's still required a decent PC to run this game. They have so many stylized pixels that your PC have to render.

The game uses voxels and has an intentionally low-poly aesthetic to make it look similar to voxel-based games of the past. You're either into it or you're not. Fans of this game like myself generally like how it looks.

Also, I love first-person games, but this game would not play well and would look awkward in first-person.

It´s a design choice. Not a "we can´t do better" choice. The game has an amazing atmosphere, stunning sun sets and dawns and the water looks amazing aswell.

If graphics matter more than gameplay, this isn´t for you. AAA Titles have you covered there. It´s 50% off right now, i would give it a try. If you really can´t stand it, it´s not a big loss for you.

For first person there is a mod available. Modding is easy, so no problem there. That said, i am way more comfortable with 1st person usually, but i never even felt the urge to play Valheim in 3rd person.

I'm a game play/game depth over graphics type, know some young folk that are as well. Also know some people my age who are all "Look at the pretty pictures!".

graphic isnt bad its awesome just its specific style so probably it not suit you .
Graphics is purposedly done in such cartoon/comic style and they did great job on this imho.

They looks nice in game. Also, super impressive that the game is only 1.3gb. Too many games use these massive texture maps with poor LOD scaling and it makes everything look muddy and ♥♥♥♥♥♥. EX: pretty much anything made in UE5 so far.

Ah yes I still remember an interview with one of the devs on youtube who said that they could add new content faster than usual thanks to the simplistic graphics style they chose. That was a funny one in hindsight

But jokes aside. The game has a really good atmosphere and is very immersive. Give it a try. It´s fun. You get used to the graphics style faster than you´d think.

this game is the prime example of "graphics dont matter"

gameplay matters. not fancy graphics. if your gameplay sucks no graphics in the world will make your game better. if your gameplay loop is addtctive as hell the player wont care about the graphics. plenty of examples of this but valheim really nails it.
