Who or what will be the boss of Ashlands?
Viking mythology mentions fire giants even Loki but does anyone have any idea who or what the Ashlands boss is likely to be?

They stated and showed it to be a fallen valkyrie.

The brief clip showed flames on the Forsaken stone (my duh).
It may be Hel (daughter of Loki [a god] and Angrboða [a Jötunn]) who rules over Helheim (the last of the nine realms) where the dishonored dead dwell. In some of the myths she can fly.

She's therefore full blooded supernatural (though half giantess and half god). Since she's daughter of Loki she can probably shape shift and having tattered raven wings would fit. I'm not sure that would count as a fallen Valkyrie but it may fit the artwork.

Just go play Enshrounded dude...
Forget about valheim. In 5 or 6 years you come back here to see if it's finished.

Given Enshrouded is only about a third or so done(relatively speaking) and some claim to get through the primary content and cap to 25 in 40-60 hours (I hit cap around 70 but was taking my time and hit 111 currently as I was doing semi completionist on achievements cept the ones about visiting all shrines... no point really), they'd likely not find your suggestion(as out of context to the discussion as it is) of merit.

I'm currently on my 2nd play through with Enshrouded and like @retsam1 took plenty of time in the 1st to try to collect all of the lore pages since building the journal is really the essence of the game. But I play both games and love them nearly equally. i"m enjoying Enshrouded and will likely need to re-tune my Valheim skills when Ashlands comes out.

Just do like everyone else is doing, go play Enshrounded which has a pretty vibrant development team, and come back to valheim in like 5 or 6y to see if there's something new. Is better to go play another game than actually keep looking at screen bothering valheim devs.
I love valheim. It's not a troll post, is just a sincere tip.

I played Enshrouded for 2 weeks and now I'm done with it until we get new content. Not sure what Enshrouded has to do with wondering what the Ashlands boss will be?

With all Bioms (except Ocean and Meadows) there are 7 trophies to get and I think the Fallen Valkyrie may be the bioms Troll equivalent (who knows). I doubt the devs would give up the boss so soon. )

My Viking mythology is not that great which is why I asked the question. It would be interesting if it was Hel.

Since there are no more walkabouts I guess we will have to wait and see...
If the devs are true to their word we can expect the next release within the next 3 months.

this games a directionless mess. The initial release notes of the mist lands shows a waaaaay more awesome mistlands..... the you just get a barren landscape with fog.

they did not. that is a regular new enemy. the only thing regarding the boss was a teaser of HALF of the new boss stone at the circle.

The Queen of the Valkyries who started wars instead of waiting for them, ultimately kicking off Ragnarök because of it?

In some myths Ragnarok was started by Loki. Baldur couldn't be harmed by any object except mistletoe so the gods would often throw objects at Badlur just to watch them bounce off without harming him. Loki tricked Baldur's blind brother Hodur to throw a spear that Loki had made from mistletoe and the spear killed Baldur.

During the war all the monsters, gods, and giants were killed (or all but a few of them in some versions of the myth) and only 2 humans Lif and Lifthrasir remained. Baldur then rose from the dead and his body became the new Earth that Lif and Lifthrasir repopulated.

In some versions of the myth the world is cyclic and the gods are reborn from Lif and Lifthrasir but don't remember who they are until something reminds them of who they are.

In other myths Thor starts Ragnarok. The world worm protects the world by holding its tail in it mouth creating a protective circle around Yggdrasil the world tree. Thor goes fishing one day and catches the world worm which causes the world worm to let go of its tail letting water into the world tree and flooding the nine realms. The flood causes famines and disease and the world starts to go wrong causing conflict between the gods and the giants.

I don't know much about viking mythology but I'm sure someone (can't remember if it was a developer) mentioned it being inspired by muspelheim, ruled over by the fire giant surtr. Placeholder ashlands is already filled with surtlings so that would make some sense. We already have yagluth as kind of a fire giant though
