How do I know how old a world is?

I don't remember when I created a world and the UI shows no metadata such as creation date. How do I know what version a world was created in? I have no idea.

the game will update the world automatically.. but only the unexplored areas... So to answer your 2nd question.. the Version will be latest version. in the unexplored areas.

the day counter is a good indicator. very old worlds that got created years ago are often in the 1000s day wise.

harder to tell on servers which are running nonstop.

If you want RL creation time then go find the world file and check under properties to find out when the file was created.

You should be able to also remember the last time you played the game too of course and if not you can likely assume the age being so old as perhaps have things changed.

Another thing you can do is use the world map generator website, put in your seed, and then compare the latest info of that seed with things you've discovered already on the map(boss locations, traders, etc). If there is a difference, then use that website's tab that lets you look at previous versions of a map seed until you find the one that matches what you've discovered and that'll give you the approximate age and knowing then how to deal with those changes accordingly.

Not sure if this helps, but if you go to manage saves it may show the original date it was created.
