I dunno, picking between a cape and it's kind of stats or a backpack that gives more carrying space feels like a nice trade off. I'd be for that.
But I am sure we all have had it where we just needed one more of something and have to run around the base to find it to complete whatever we were building. Or am I the only one who runs into that kind of annoyance?
This will strike some people as odd but part of why I enjoy Valheim is the challenge of creating efficiencies around a limited inventory and having to put a fair amount of thought into managing storage.
While it can feel like a chore, there is also greater satisfaction when all is made to work well within those limitations, as opposed to having so much automation that any disorganized mishmash of materials I've scattered through several chests is instantly sorted and assembled.
Which is fine for some. That's why I agree it should be an option much like teleportation with materials. Maybe it breaks the game for some, but I like it as an option as it helps save time as a solo player so I can keep doing the things I like to do rather then spend all my time hunting down items in my base to see if I have enough.
Doesn't mean I always need to take advantage of it, but the option is nice for example if I have only an hour or so to play so I can spend most of it playing rather than hunting.

The one on Thunderstore is an upload from someone besides the author (and not the only one, there is at least one more there for this mod, of a different version), like so much there, where it's questionable whether the author even allowed it. I would therefore not use Thunderstore, if possible. Also, the one on Thunderstore is one version behind the one on Nexus.
And the mod itself works perfectly
They could always implement it as difficulty setting, it they don't want it to be a core element of gameplay. Although you totally can blend it in nicely and it won't break the game at all.
My idea was to tie the number of chests with workbench upgrades. I.e. you start with no ability to use any supply chests at all, but as you progress and upgrade your workstation you get access to chests that you have to place in the vicinity. Basically the number of chests is equal to your bench level. Limited number of chests is also great incentive to produce and use higher tier chests, given that they have more space.
