At best if you sign into the pc version of the microsoft store with the same account as your xbox you'll be able to check to see if the game is enabled or not.
No. The Platform that xbox and the microsoft store purchased version of the game share are a completely different consumer platform from that of steam. Purchases on one does not entitle you to download the game from the other.
Different Systems, Different Games.
I think its a bit disingenuous to imply that this is a new phenomenon when DRM has been around for a pretty long time. Also there are plenty of games and even GoG's platform where that is a non issue for various games as well as you know.
You never own the actual game but a license to use it only.
Also: if you buy a PlayStation game, it doesn't mean you get an xbox, switch or pc version for free because of that.
Same goes for xbox <> PC.

Yeah it's been this way for a while but it can always get worse!
