devs cheating and torches
stamina behaviour is different according to the biome and when there are enemies, that is cheating the player

and make torches no rechargable already.. the dumbest mechanic I have seen in survival games. You take a lot of things for granted. For example, you don't need a needle and thread to make clothes or any other type of sewing, you don't have to make boots or gloves either, because you assume that the set has it, so what's the point of recharging the torches 400000 times? bother people? It's like adding forks, knives, plates and condiments to meals, or adding shoelaces and more nonsense like an object to light the torches, since you can't light them by hand, add a rudimentary lighter that you must refill with oil processed, what do you think?

There is a mod that will take fuel from a near by chest so you dont have to worry about it.

If it's the one I think it's still annoying since you have to refill the sap.

I believe there also mods to where you dont have to add fuel at all.

Would be nice. But they break the mods with each update.
I was happy using a "Ciri" VRM Model, I cant anymore because they changed something.

Thats a thing you just have to deal with when dealing with a game in EA.

Is it thou?
And isnt the player cheating compared to mobs. By jumping, dodging, parrying, drinking, having 0 cooldowns on attacks etc.

I'm sorry but you push me to reflect: It's incredible how far fanaticism can go.

It's just not good practice. It is called artificially increasing difficulty and also deceiving the player.

The game offers you the possibility of preparing foods that improve your physical performance, and there is also a list of skills that you can consult to find out your level. You can also rest or sleep better according to your home and comforts. All of this takes a lot of work to improve. But none of that (which is your time invested) makes much sense if the game is then going to arbitrarily decide that you have no stamina ignoring the rules that the game itself indicates = Frustration and hate.

I think its worth mentioning that you do denote that this isnt the only survival game that requires renewing of resources to burn for lighting in the game. Its part of a pretty common mechanic survival game wise. No wood? Fire goes out.

There is a torch later in the game that does not require renewing resources to keep it burning, but Im quite sure that's either not going to satisfy you either or that you'll complain of its resource use to craft either.

I think instead of your vehemency, if you'd approached suggesting that fuel expending for lighting or similar was a setting added to the map world modifier settings, you may have have more legitimacy to your ranting. Instead you inanely say "devs cheating", and calling others trying to calm you down as fanatical due to your unreserved anger.

That's a shame.

So look we get it, you do not like the time sinks as implemented by the devs, even if there is at least 3x resource choice to help mitigate some of your frustrations there.

At this point you're either going to have to roll with it as is, adapt through modifier settings and mod use(unsupported mind you), or shelve the game until it matches your sensibilities.

But all in all this is a user end issue. *shrug*

Yeah, the dev's made torches go out on purpose, just so you would make this thread.

Except no mechanic exist that scales stamina behaviour based on biome you are in, nor if there are enemies nearby. And im the fanatic when you are making stuff up on the spot.

Maybe you mean getting the rested buff? I guess thats a pain if you try to camp with hostiles around... but thats not really impacting stamina, just clear the area before your run out and you have permanent buff. Or better, portal back which takes like 10 seconds.

I believe the rat is referring to being wet and or cold thus having a stamina penalty because they don't utilize the items the devs have given players to counter the effects.

User Issue.
Skill issue.
No dev action required.
Tuittu 24. jan. 2024 kl. 23:41
One reason could be performance issues. If the player has to fill up the torches and fires, then they will not build hundreds of them. Hundred light sources are usually heavy on the GPU side.

I'm new to this game but my god these whining threads are comedic gold. Stamina (a core mechanic) is "artificially increasing difficulty" :steamhappy: couldn't even make this stuff up
