Do you typically have to visit multiple dungeons to get 10 surtling cores?
The dungeon i've found only has 3, and i've searched every single path, i've tried breaking walls with my pickaxe, doesn't seem to do anything, do i just have to find another dungeon?

Technically you only need five cores. You can build a kiln, make coal, then dismantle the kiln to build the smelter. It's just nice to have ten cores so you can have both at once.

But you'll also want at least 4 more, so you can make portals once you have your bronze axe and can harvest fine wood .

Burial chambers are quite common so you shouldn't have too much difficulty finding more. Note that they can look three different ways, and one in particular can be hard to spot. The giveaway is skeletons - any time you find three just hanging around in black forest, there is either a burial chamber or a stone ruin. So if you see skellies and no ruin...

I had to visit 4 as the first two obly gave me 2, third gave me 4, and the fourth had a whopping 12 because it had the 4 surtling core treasure room 3 times.

5 or 6 per dungeon is normal. in many dungeons there will a room or two that has 4-5 setting out for you. some dungeons are duds. you certainly need to clear multiple dungeons to get all the cores you will need. you only need enough cores to make a Kiln and some smelters, they don't have much use after that. later on you can get cores in swamps.
inside dungeons you can't break walls, so don't worry about hidden things. monsters do no respawn inside but the yellow mushrooms do, so if you have a dungeon near your house you can revisit it to stock up on the food.

2-3 is average. You can find a bone chamber with up to 6 but these can be guarded by 2-star skeletons, rancid remains and ghosts so be prepared.

...all RNG, seen 'em with none, seen 'em with 10...

Totally depends. Some chambers are toyal duds and have 0, most have at least 2 or 3, some have 10.

I once had 19 in one dungeon, othertimes just one or two or even none at all. It´s completely random.

The most I've seen in one dungeon was 8 I think. Pretty normal to have to go through multiple to get 10.

Yeah, i've been exploring a bit more, and i've found 3 more dungeons, i've looted one of them and i now have 8 cores, gonna go out soon go get more, but i didnt think of deconstructing my furnace to make a coal smelter, definitely going to get some basic bronze tools before i go into a next one

Too many of the Bios are too small to produce the material we need. You have to find Large Zones to find the needed material. Also you can 3X and it affects cores. Later in game you will find them even easier to find.

Yes you have to visit multiple places to get all the things you need. Did you not get that vibe from the other biomes? This is not a one and done type of game. You need to explore!

What other biomes? the only biome i've traveled to at this point is the meadows and a small part of the black forest

I'd recommend going for the shield and mace first. Makes clearing more dungeons a cakewalk and works against greydwarfs too.
And leveling your clubs skill will serve you well in the swamp too.

The armor is generally not worth crafting since bronze is a pain to get because of the 3:1 ratio of ore to bars and slower movement. You're better off with troll armor instead.
