Vegetation suddenly growing out of control - How to adjust it back??
Just started playing again after more than a year. New character in a new world. Played a couple days and there was no vegetation. All the grass looked like it was just cut. Really like it this way. Then all of a sudden, the grass / veg is growing out of control. Can no longer see mushrooms, rocks, etc unless I walk right over them. Probably cause my eyesight sucks. How can I turn the vegetation back to the way it was just yesterday? Looked in settings and the vegetation is all the way on low. Also turned off Bloom. So far, no change with the grass length. Help please...

You can't completely remove it now.

Maybe mods can.

Open registry editor then navigate to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\IronGate\Valheim, once you open Valheim folder on the right side look for ClutterQuality its at the top of the list double click it and change its value to 0.
And bam no more grass, afterwards don't touch ingame settings otherwise this value resets back to 1.

Honestly they could have added the setting to toggle clutter on and off just like they did with the rest (bloom, dof, ssao... etc).

Ummm. Mushrooms regrow. I mark every location I find them at on the map.

I do too. Just finding it difficult to see them now that the grass is long. Again, I'm sure it's just my eyes and others won't have a problem seeing stuff...

Nice! Totally worked. No idea why it changed from no grass to long grass after a few days playing. Would think the world would have started w. the long grass.

Thank you!!

Okay that settles it, this is an off-by-one error in the config menu.
