Valheim

Food fixed yet?
Is the whole game still based on cooking and making a food combo to get enough HP to go outside or have they fixed it yet?

No, this game is based on "git gud".

What's that "fix" you have in mind?

Download a mod and fix it yourself in seconds. I love 90% of what the game offers, and a little modding fixes up the other 10%.

True but the devs need to fix mod support/compatibility issues, I shouldn't be stopped from playing with someone with Valheim Plus installed simply cuz they don't want to click 100 times to cook 100 onion soups...some of this ♥♥♥♥ is just blatant time sink/tedious grind the devs refuse to fix...their vision for the game is to ignore what the community thinks is fun and keep plunging ahead with selfish ego, gamers and devs sadly have forgotten they are supposed to work for us, and they are supposed to want to entertain us and make the game fun for us, when they pull that BS where they refuse to make changes everyone in the community asks for cuz it isn't "their vision", maybe we shouldn't rush to defend that non argument anymore? Call it for what it is? A dev team putting their own idea of fun and gameplay over their customers idea of having fun, if you want to give money to an artist who cares more about themselves and their enjoyment than you, go ahead. I prefer not supporting selfish artists...this dev team lost support from me with the Mistlands honestly, nothing about it is implemented correctly change my mind...

there is nothing to "fix" about food here really. its not broken. a FIX implies something is broken.

If by fixed you mean more foods available, yes they added more with mistlands.

my halls are brimming with food. all seems to be well. no spoil timers. odd for a difficult survival game, but they may have thought other aspects are hard enough.

How was food broken to begin with in order to be fixed?
Ultimogotti Nov 24, 2023 @ 7:17am
This is just a cooking game with monster slaying

I think there were a lot of similar complaints after Hearth & Home update so probably something like that. They just chose to use the foods to optionally boost your health instead of dying if you won't eat & drink on a regular basis. Uncommon for a "survival" game but it's a new approach and pretty much works...
Is it just the amount of foods that's annoying people? Like farming and hunting?
Yes cooking in bulk could be implemented to speed up the process and some dislike the planting/harvesting but it's still a survival-game, so what exactly do you expect? You could always write a post in suggestions & ideas.

Have they removed the core progression mechanic? Er... no. O.o

Valheim Plus not working flawlessly isn't the game devs problem. It's a problem manufactured by the mod author. Game devs can't force a modder to mod a specific way.
There is also no point of trying to enable full mod support in an early development phase when things are changing frequently.
If full mod support comes, it comes after 1.0 release.

And the rest of your opinion doesn't match reality either.
This game isn't for everyone, if you don't enjoy it, don't play it.
Devs dont work for you. They work to sell a product to you, whether you end up buying and enjoying that product is on you.

You used the word selfish to describe it, that is a projection of self rather than an observation.

I just want to click through the story, dammit!

Grinding is still the point of the game, yes. Grow carrots to cook soup to kill Draugrs to get turnips.

I'm just irritated that the Mistlands is such a mess. Go through all this work to get an Eitr refinery, *then* go through even more work before you can even use eitr.... contrast to needing a beehive, a tin pot, and a dead wolf to make wolf jerky. Mistlands is just really unrewarding play. Hopefully they'll mix things up a bit in the next upgrade.
