Report a translation problem
That solves the problem for every enemy that can't fly.
Remember that weather damage never goes below 50% so it doesn't have to be rebuilt.
this way is great. and by far more realistic and creative than just cheating with a mod.
Just going to build some stuff for fun. will turn it all back on later.
get your pickaxe, dig a deep trench around the area you wish to build, deep enough so that you cant jump out of it, leave one place on the outer edge where you can jump out, create access points to the build area using ladders and jump points, so you can cross the ditch and mobs cant.
then inside the build area, around the inside edge of the ditch, create a 'wall' using the hoe and the raise ground feature, utilising all the stone you got from digging the ditch, hey presto, nothing can get in to ruin your beautiful creation.
the ditch and raise ground method also works for taking out lox with a bow, dig a 6x6 ditch, inside create a minimum of a 5 high raised platform on a 4x4 base, build ladders to the peak, doesnt matter if the lox destroy your crafting table or your ladders, the mats will still be there to build them again when you return.
one caveat though, dont anger more than one lox at a time, cos the buggers have a habit of climbing on each others backs, to where they CAN kill you.
- own an island, such that nothing can spawn on it.
- turn raids off on your server
- raise terrain and build up there. YOU can RUN up a sheer earth wall. The bad guy's can't, so their only attacks are to lob arrows or rocks and if you built inside away from the edges, they can't even do that effectively.
- dig a moat (any deep ditch) around your base. They can't jump over even a thin one and if they fall in, they can't get out or do anything except make noises.
- you can use raised terrain AS your outer walls, it cannot be harmed.

This concept, of course, can be scaled to any size... I was purposely trying to keep it small.
This keeps out all land-based attacks... does not stop "flyers".
Mostly true.
The two exceptions I know of (one isn't really combat related) are greylings; I have seen these weird little critters sort of levitate up and down over the highest earthwalls and baby chicks - I have no idea how those little insanities get to some of the places they get to.
Reguarding building on an island, it is also important to note to select an island that is at a good distance from other land masses from which mods can use as a spawning point too.
By definition, you're then calling the developers cheats too since they allow modding for the game and as well implemented game play sliders and settings that we previously didnt have that mods had previously enacted to help facilitate different ways to play.
Mods are a way to vary play. Calling them then cheats is a misnomer.
Another "safe-base" idea I want to add to the discussion, is Elder altar. I have been making bases under the elder altars for years, and have never had any mob get inside my base whatsoever. They can be made 100% safe from EVERYTHING, by simply sealing off all physical exits (with dirt), and use portal to get in / out. When raids happen, the mobs just mill around, unable to find anything to attack, and eventually wander away when the raid ends.
Here is an example of the amount of space I usually find under the altar... I placed stone walls all around, but that is purely for looks... can just leave everything dirt walls or make wood walls or whatever.

Endless possibilities...
-----------------------------------
I would also like to add that Copper nodes can be used for a variety of different things besides the obvious, mining for copper....
I figured out pretty early that mining noise always called the nearby baddies, making it hard to harvest the copper, so I started mining the copper nodes from underneath / inside the node, which allowed me to mine in peace... what I discovered was that I often ended up with enough space to set up my smelter and coal kiln, and more, right inside the copper node, and this eliminated the need for me to take metals back to some distant base, and allowed me to just bring the workshop to the mining area...

A hollowed-out copper node can be used for many thing from an "instant" emergency shelter, if you get caught out in the forest after dark, or as an outpost (mentioned above), or even as a safe place to put the opposite portal, leading in and out of the underground elder altar base... or simply the safest way to mine the copper... from the inside-out.
