Are onions still in the game?

Took a break and playing through again for lolz but I have already beat YAG

Looked all over the mountains I was on and found tons of chests but no onions..

Are they still in the game?

Will I need them for anything once I am using plains food anyway? Something built with it?

You need them for salad...which is my go 2 for stam food in terms of value if you know how to mid max your crops

So it tops bread or when you want 2 stamina going?

Is it used in any of the food upgrades or anything like that?

I am sure I will find them eventually if they are still in the game, just wondering if I am wasting my time or if I should consider it more of an urgent need.

Salad is the best casual (super cheap and fast) stamina food in the game and 3rd best (tops bread) stamina food (and Mistlands food). You need all 4 plantables in Mistlands (depends on build a bit).

It's a bit random if you find them. Sounds like you had bad luck.

Exactly what glass zebra said

Its not used in any upgrades for your cauldron and you can make a pretty garden if you plant the onions themselves to grow the flowers.

Yeah you can skip a lot of stuff in the game (except Moder) and still continue without much issue.

I frankly often have this issue with turnips and sometimes with onions. Usually fixed when looking for boss spawn

Turnips I have pretty good luck with most of the time. Onions I have found in other playthroughs fairly easily... that is why I was questioning if they were still in the game or not ha ha.

It took a long time for me to find onion seeds as well. I think about my 5th or 6th mountain zone before I found a chest containing 7 seeds. Look in log cabins.

Yeah they can be a pain to find but well worth it. Like someone else said, boss mountains have worked well for me.

If you don't have serpent meat handy for serpent stew wolf skewers are still good in plains.

Learned recently there are sometimes hidden chests in the log cabins. Might be worth the effort to go back to some of the ones you've explored, drop a table, and deconstruct the whole thing to look for hidden chests

I have found them in like roof rafters but never under the cabin.

Still looking in this playthrough. But man... do they really need to make them rare AND hide them ha ha ha. At least put some in the frost caves or something .. oh well there is probably a mountain someplace with all of them .. every chest will have them and no where else on the map... ha ha that would be funny!

I'm past them anywho, so no biggie. Just trying to figure out the magic stuff now.

You need them if you havent looted them. They're in like half the mistlands recipes. :X
