Fish and dough

I just found out about this food item when I decided to explore fishing (a whole other story) and caught an angler fish.
After checking the ingredients this is the most expensive food item ever, for what it gives. I find that it is utterly not worth it. Sure it is the best stamina food in the game but it gives just a tiny bit more than the omelette but it is way more resource intensive. The fact that you first need to make bread dough which is expensive on its own since its a single ingredient food item, and then use both of the doughs to make the recepie. Then there is the fact that you need to make misty fishing bait and catch the angler fish, which can be an annoying task. Finally the size of the fish doesnt matter at all, so even if you decide to use a big fish lvl4-5 it still yields only 1 fish and dough in the end.
I feel this food item needs to be desperately needs to be rebalanced to have some use, more stamina and health maybe to make it worth going through the hassle or some special effect.

What are your opinions on this? Do you think its ok as it is?

fishing is in generel a huge waste of time currently. its unfinished content thats clearly still beeing worked on in total.

fish and bread is not worth it. neither is omlette. both are a huge waste of resources that can be used more effectively otherwise.

you can mass produce salad for stamina. the 5-10 more stamina simply dont justify the farming effort required compared to salad and the triple craft and only 1 puff per salad compared to 3 per omlette puts the final nail in the coffin. not to mention the eggs which are better converted into more honey glazed meta chicken.

youre also 1 year later nearly to bring this up sorry to say that. this is not something new. this recipe has been in the game since mistlands update last year. it was never worth makeing it unless you play with someone who does nothing but fish ALL DAY. the cost vs effort ratio is totally busted.

since ashlands is getting closer now this food recipe will soon be replaced by better ones anyway. hopefully they wont use MAGMAFISH XD

Yeah, know im late because I never really bothered with fishing, had fish jump in my boat at best xD. Was just trying to get all fish lvl 5 (except ashland and deep north as to not damage the map generation once they arrive) for my trophy wall in my base when I caught the anglerfish and got the recepie. The omlette is not that bad honestly, sure you can mass produce salad, but the eggs are a good by product of farming chickens and the seeds can be annoying to get but if you plan ahead you will have some left over. The jotun puffs are of no real issue they are easy to plant and get the “extra cost” doesnt hurt the stockpile that much.

Fishing used to be my favorite past time in this game but now it's just meh.
To get useable fish products you have to combine 3 different fish?
It's just painful and nonsensical to me. You used to just fish and the size of the fish determined how much you got....made sense.....tuna looked really cool too....oh well.
I'm not going to hunt trolls and serpents to make bait....just smh stupid imo....

You mean the several fish in the ingredient list? I guess that's just to show what you can use, not that you need them all. Pretty sure all the fish just make "raw fish" in the cauldron and bigger fish give more pieces. Then you cook those on the racks and then make fish wraps with them. As far as I know only the angler fish is used differently.

Well in my game if you don't have a perch, a trollfish and the other one you can't make "fish" lol
Oh and there's level 1-3 for each type.....just weird....

Fishing is easy if you build a trap instead of using a pole.

Barley is no harder to plant than any other crop and you can harvest an entire field in one swipe with an aetgir. You can build several windmills and make flour while you do other things.

Barley is easier to plant! Just it takes a lot of barley/flour per recepie making it a bit expensive and annoying to plant.

The fishing traps dont seem to work anymore….googled it last night and fish dont seem the jump anymore as they used to in previous patches (i kinda miss it while traveling with the longship)

That lists out that you need 1 of the fish listed there to make fish, doesnt use them all. The baits are now made from trophies from different biomes no longer from different fish; and if you have only fish from 1-3 you need to check on which patch are you.

Only the anglerfish is used differently to make fish and bread.

The fish traps still work just not as well. The fish don't jump any more but if you build the trap into a fish spawn point you can still trap them with wave action when the wind is blowing.

They really should buff the stamina boost if they want to make this recipe worthwhile. As others have said its not worth the effort for the minor boost.

If they just made it to when you use a level 1 vs a lvl 2 angler fish, then you would get an extra bread and fish I'd be happy.
