Uses for scale hide

So what are you all doing with those tons of scale hide? I am confused why small hares drop 50% more pelt than wolves do (apart from them being more annoying to hunt for some builds if no plains next to Mistlands) in the first place, but the scales just keep filling up my chests and unless you wanna craft some Mistlands armour or Krom, you seem to having enough for other stuff like 10 minutes of entering Mistlands.

Are you all making giant rooms full of small rugs with them or inefficiently turning them into coal? Any cool ideas for their uses? Drawing pictures with item stands? (do they even fit on those?)

I put down a few rugs and them just keep them. Once I have half a chest full I start throwing them out.

Not as bad as bones imo

Can at least use bones for the crossbow now though. Until you got all your carapace gear and then just swap to carapace bolts that is.. There are a few more uses for bones for Mistland items, but it's still easy to fill up a chest with them, especially when you are playing on hard and get something like "Skeleton surprise!" a few times.

Better question is what to do with the troll hides? Other than armor there is nothing to do. We need more decorative items. Like leather pattern canvas or carved bone framing. Or sausage chains to make use of all those guts.

It is really random how much I get. With my last char I got enough to max troll armour and that is it. That is after 3 ground shaking events with ~4 trolls each and around plains time. With Mistlands hare scales I have more than I need before I even get the first core. You can also use the sausages forever as cheap food or for wolf breeding (pretty much the best food for them and wolves got a lot stronger with Mistlands items).

But the troll hides don't even have a rug.

I slap surplus every thing into the obliterator and only pull the lever when its full (except stone and wood. I make piles out those from the build menu). Gives me an opportunity to change my mind but usually I have MORE of the surplus junk by the time the obliterator is full.

Yeah I basically do the same, but when I see certain things filling it very quickly, I think "I must be overlooking something or did they really do weird balancing here?".

They did mess up the balancing of some resources yes. Hides, bones, carapace, black metal, probably others

Would be funny if the troll hide rug kept the big hairy troll cheeks intact. XD

Save it for the ashlands. Hare hide could have uses.
