The sorting within those sublist seem super random though. Sometimes it looks like top down by tier, down top by tier or alphabetical. I don't know what the sorting is there. They might be sorted by internal names and not display names.
Sure, sure, it's a small team and perhaps their development strategy is to rough-draft all the features first and then file down and burnish them later - seen that before - but... players may lose patience with this and use mods that mitigate the half-finished stuff and the developers may lose "steam" and motivation years later and never get round to the filing down and burnishing. So players will use mods to get the game that THEY want to play rather than the developer's drawn-out and delayed "vision".
At my old age where I struggle to remember stuff I need all the help I can get. Being able to search menus would make the crafting menu way better and usable.
In a way. A lot of players use a controller, so that's a consideration. Sorting by alpha would allow recipes to be looked up more quickly than typing in a search box (for a player with a controller), and it would not introduce a new GUI element.
