There are three ways to do this. One is to craft a hanging brazier, the second is to buy an Iron Pit from Hildir. Both require hauling metals to your treehouse. Makes me glad they added the world modifier options. I did the sailing bit to haul metals. Been there, done that, done WITH that! If you just want a campfire you can place a stone block into the tree and put your campfire upon that.
When you get two pieces of iron in the swamp, you can place a fire on a stone floor with the stone workbench. A tree will support a stone floor piece.

Otherwise you may need to improvise. One way is to use the hoe to raise the terrain close to your house, up to 8m high, and put the fire on a pillar of earth. It doesn't have to be all the way inside, just close enough to the bed to get the buff. Fires can also go on top of rocks, like those large stone circles in the meadows. That's almost like having a tree house.
if you can place a piece of stone floor or wall piece, you can have a fire on it. how you get the stone where you want it is gonna be the challenge. once you have iron, you can use wood-iron beams to pull off any number things.
one thing about tree houses: regular trees aren't great for tree houses because they are one troll attack away from not being your foundation anymore. it can be done, but you need to make sure that any troll attack cant reach them. the better idea is to use the indestructible trees in the swamp. they have branches that spread out in useful ways, and it's pretty easy to get a hearth up there

Wot he said :)
Thanks guys for all the suggestions, I am working on it.
Hanging brazier

Next update, swamp trees become flammable!
You can place campfires on core wood. Just place a couple 2m beams on your floor, slap a fire on top, and voila!

Does that still work? I thought they patched it out.

Just tried it, does not work. Patched out confirmed.
Article 4, subsection 6 paragraph 12 of the Valheim revised statutes state:

All combustible mantels and similar trim shall be kept at least 6 inches from the fireplace opening. Parts of the mantel assembly located along the sides of the fireplace opening which project more than 1 1/2 inches (38mm) from the face of the fireplace shall have additional clearance equal to the projection extension beyond 1 1/2 inches. Parts of the mantel assembly located above and projecting more than 1 1/2 inches (38mm) from the fireplace opening shall not be placed less than 12 inches (305mm) from the top of the fireplace opening.
Brazier ( hanging or standing) and the iron fire pit from Hildir are options. Can also do a stone block/floor if tree or build will support its weight, then place a campfire on that. Cheers.
iron wood beams can support stone floors or a hearth.
There are several ways to get "fire" to work up in a tree.

all of these methods are vanilla but requires you are able to get iron / stone cutter.

1. Hearth can be placed as long as some part of it is touching the tree.

2. Any stone floor tile will stay in place, as long as some part of it touches the tree. Place stone floor against tree then place fire on stone floor.

In this next example, I was able to place a full 3x4 tile stone floor completely with no support other than the tree itself, which means each one of those is touching the tree in some way.

3. Wooden iron beams will not only support a normal fire, but they can also support the coal kiln and smelter as well.

Using a combination of beams and stone, its possible to build quite large, safe mining-outposts in the tall trees of the swamps.

I'll be darned, a hanging brazier can count as a fire for a bed? I have to play around with this.
