When is the DLC coming? and will it wipe my bases and loot?

I invested a lot of time into gathering and building. I love the game and looking forward to the DLC. I just don't want to have to start over again.

DLC? There is no dlc, the game isn't even finished yet.

If referring to the next update, it comes with it's done. You can get a rough idea of when it may be coming by reading the News and specifically looking at test branch news. If the content you want isn't even being tested it won't be coming any time soon.

You should back up your saves often in any case, but so far the devs have been pretty good about not breaking any existing content with updates.

The game is still in development, any "upcoming content" you see updates or discussions about is literally the next part of the game the devs are working on. So while grammatically it will be "downloadable content", it won't be "DLC" as it will come as part of a Steam update to the game when they move into the next version... And yes; it will be free, since you've already bought the "complete game" and that as yet unfinished content is part of the "completed game".

To my knowledge, the devs have made no official plans to have future DLC or expansions... They're just focussing on finishing the game right now.

which update are you talking about? hildirs quest or ashlands?

In answer to the main question, no. The game will not regenerate any lands you've already visited and there's a huge safety margin on that, 500m radius I think? There's actually a popular mod to pull this distance in tighter and selectively recreate some world features so new regions actually have a chance to spawn in older saves.

As long as you have unexplored parts of the map, new stuff will be accessible. I still play on my first map and I have found Mistlands and all kinds of stuff :)

No DLC's, this is not an mmo. It's a simple game with beginning, middle (where we are now) and end that is in early access. Devs have been good about not erasing anything but if you have been near new areas, as noted above, they wont render correctly or with updates as intended. Big maps though so I would be surprised if you couldn't find lots of new fresh areas when there are updates.

thank you much, that is the info that i'm looking for. I have a few bases around but i really care about my big "main" base thats sitting in the meadows right now. I don't want them to delete that or my stuff in the chests. I would say about 80% of the world is still unexplored for me.

no update has ever deleted bases.

but if you want the new content dont explore too much of your worldmap. as explored parts wont get updated content anymore. for example if you explore the entire ashlands down south your map is done for when ashlands releases at the end of the year roughly.

with hildirs update next month the black forest will see some new dungeon additions so explored black forests wont have any of these.

hildir will have a new camp somewhere in the meadows aswell. if all your meadows biomes on the map are fully explored that wouldnt be good.
