SEAGULLS ARE ANNOYING!!! Anyone aggree

there is this bug that causes 10's of thousand of seagulls to spawn in one area near my base and nearly crash the game WHAT IS HAPPENING!!!

Seriously though, I haven't had this bug happen yet. Just an increasing number of random crashes. Any mods being used?

Free feathers. You get more birds when there is rain. There might be an over flow error in the game program.

I've gotta ask the obvious question - are you running mods? There are mods that affect spawn rates and if set up incorrectly, they can cause stuff like this. Had been playing on a friend's server and it would spawn huge numbers of mobs which killed the game until that was fixed.

Might be something worth looking at if you do.

Plus they just magically *know* when you even think about pointing a bow in their direction.

Oh hey are there still some server side mods that work with the vanilla game client? I thought those died around the time frost caves were added.

Seagulls are annoying irl. They mob up and stomp around on the ground before big weather events and wake me every morning. I would hate to see scads of them in the game. Feathers are good. I love killing seagulls in game but I never kill the crows. Crows are magical, seagulls are vermin.

Have you tried building on top of the area they seem to be spawning? A workbench in proximity might suppress the spawn.
