Anyone know any good up to date Portal Restriction Bypass mods?
Playing through the game with my boyfriend, my last "big" playthrough where I used a portal mod was well over a year ago, and the mod doesn't seem to work anymore. Does anyone have an updated version that currently works?

wait for hildir patch this month and then you can enable this setting on demand in the game.

Just play the good old logout-game before going through the portal.
When standing in front of the portal fully packed, just log out.
Log in to any other world and leave your stuff there, log out and log back in to the first world.
You are now able to go through the portal (you left your stuff in the other world), so do it.
Upon arriving on the other side of the portal just log out and log in to the world you left your stuff in.
Grab your stuff and - for the last time - log out and log in to the other world.
You went through the portal and are fully packed again.
Takes two minutes.

Valheim Plus has a setting for that. It has a ton of customization options you can toggle on and off as well. Highly recommended.

Is this confirmed? Or speculation?

Second post nailed it, for vanilla play.
Log out and store everything in a pocket world. Return to base, then log out to fetch it. Your player inventory is preserved between worlds. It can even be used to item dupe, for the more nefarious.
Or just make your home base in that 2nd world.

confirmed based on the fact the devs themselfs said "this SHOULD be the last devblog before the hildir content hits the ptb" which was said in the may devblog. go and read it if you dont believe it.

so it should come this month. SHOULD. unexcepted bugs and issues not withstanding of course.

remember this game gets the buildable maypole in june every year. and midsummer in sweden is on the 23th of june. so they need to get that update out before or on that date as it will contain the maypole aswell due to the timeing of it. and they wanted to get it out before summer break aswell.

so the update should get to the testbranch before june 23th as thats also the week where the june devblog will come out most likely.

it wont come this week tough. but either next week or the week after it should begin.

I'm aware of this, I'd rather not interrupt both me and my bf's play session doing this when I could get a mod that lets me do it instantly. That's a lot of saved time.

Ah okay, I incorrectly assumed you two are playing on a dedicated server.
Sorry!

My wife and I do this when she gets bored of sailing. Either the person who is not the host moves the materials or you wait until the very end of your play session to move the materials. Every update break the mods.

That's true... Thinking that maybe using Debugmode to fly across the map back and forth be another good alternative to mods. I just really don't like hopping between worlds like that, for me at least the game's load times are pretty slow.

I've not been keeping up with updates on this game all that closely but I find this difficult to believe given the pushback and then radio silence from the developers regarding suggestions to add such an option. If it's true though (I can't find the devblog that mentions it), nice. Very nice. Why now though? It's been two years and I'm sure most of the people who complained about restricted portals (including myself) are either resigned to using mods or have moved on to other games. I wonder what changed their minds (assuming it is true).

That's what I started using after world-hopping became too tiresome: logging in and out of worlds may not take long to do a single time but doing it multiple times over any period of time does become annoying. I also recommend it (over the other mod) because tweaking the increased weight limit from Megingjord can compliment having unrestricted portals too.

nothing changed thier minds. its simply part of the optional non default settings theyll add with hildir. and yes its true. there is a video of it on twitter by the devs themselfs where they show the settings you can choose. maybe i can link it here.

https://twitter.com/jsmars/status/1647968860711145481

here. this is directly tweeted from the dev behind it.

you have to pause the video to read all the settings. but that shouldnt be hard to do.
one of the checkboxes says "portal items" which was later confirmed to be just teleport everything by the same devs when asked about it. this setting is by default disabled and only enabled in casul mode or if you check the box.

its not gonna be the default setting thankfully. and thats why they didnt change thier minds on it. they just provide the option as an extra setting you can CHOOSE. but theyll continue to balance the game with the current concept in mind where you cannot teleport certain items.
