just like. double the area effect. that should be more than enough i say. dont increase it like 500% . that would make entire base have comfort max which is a bit dumb.
* the comfort radius forces you to put all comfort items close together. Chairs and rugs are easy, hot tub and bed not do much. I dont want to create 2 beds just to cover my base. It looks dumb.
* the only way to upgrade workstations is by building new pieces. These pieces are bulky, need to be close to the workstation but not too close to each other.
So one mechanic calls for bigger bases with more room, while the other wants to keep everything in a small radius.
Unless the intent is to have the workbench room, the forge room, the magic room and the comfort room. Which I find really stupid. I want to be comfortable everywhere!!
There's a common trend where people try to remove every little hurdle they find annoying. Some things may be improved by adding QoL improvements to the game, but for plenty of people, if not most, these gameplay features are a part of the game, just like any other thing - growing crops, cooking food, animal husbandry, dealing with raids, preparing base defences, mining, etc.
There are plenty of ways to work around how to construct the interior of the base, how to fit things within a small area, get the resting bonus, etc. Cram it all together, or not; build several floors, or a cellar; strive for the max resting bonus, or accept the fact that it's not a necessity to have the max possible.
I just beat the Queen. I've got max resting bonus of 15 - 22 minutes. I'm fairly sure it's not max attainable, but somehow it was good enough to get things done.
..and if all other things fail - I'm sure there's a mod out there.
Since we aren't devs (who aren't going to change things at your beck and call) the best we can do is offer existing solutions to your perceived problem. If you have a suggestion you should put it in the proper forum instead of creating a whine thread in general discussion and since the devs made a conscious decision to change it in a direction that you don't want the chances of you getting what you want are low.
That leaves using the ideas that have been presented to you, using devcommands to play the game, using a mod to do what you want, or writing a mod yourself if none that exist do what you want them to do.
As far as the above quote goes that was a response to loppantorkel and is a statement of fact based on the current state of the game. Day cycle last 21 minutes and a 22 minute rested buff takes you all the way through the entire day and 1/9th of the way into the 9 minute night cycle. If that isn't enough for you then perhaps you need a playstyle change or an easier game.
I only ever need max comfort around the bed.
that way we don't all have to crowd my bedroom lol.
yeah it's great for sleeping through the night to get max rested by sleeping, but there is no need to actually sleep to get rested.
just 20 seconds in a waiting room lol, since we all go out through the same paths i make it near a portal nexus and then we just grab our food, hang for 20 seconds and go.
Slick! Super clever.
If you place braziers, fires, or bonfires around your base, you can keep your resting status as you move around without the rested buff counting down. If you gain the buff in a low comfort area, as long as it doesn't begin to count down it will swap to the higher duration if you move to a higher comfort area.
