Muddy Scrap Pile Crypts

Is there a cap on the amount Muddy scrap pile pits in the game?
I seem to be having a dry spell scouting around all the swamp areas. Lotsa wrecked towers, burial chambers and troll caves. I have some swamp areas that seem to have no scrap pile Crypts. I think with all the burial chambers, the game is telling me to go out further...

It's all down to RNG. Some swamps have none, some have lots.

I had some terrible RNG recently where I was looking for crypts and found a swamp biome with only 2 of them. “Not too bad,” I thought, until I entered them both to find they were literally just 3 or 2 rooms deep.

Too bad we can’t make a base inside crypts. Was tiny enough to be cozy.

You can with a mod called Build Restriction Tweaks. It lets you build in troll caves too. Crypts are too haphazard for me so I prefer the caves to make a small base.

fast answer ... search valheim world generator - it will take the seed you have and show you a bunch of different locations - you can specifically look up crypts/mines etc and then find the areas there are a lot of - slow...i mainly just sail around and look for a swamp that looks big and deep - larger area = more crypts. My last i found without the map was like 500 iron scrap - more than i need for a long time

Skinny swamps usually don't have crypts. If you don't want to lose the surprise of your own map's fog of war then just hit random on the generator and it will show a random map. You can see by the shapes of the swamps what size they need to be to generate crypts. Makes life easier if you can just look at a swamp as you uncover it and know pretty much what to expect. It's a small cheese but worth it.

And some crypts are lacking in iron, like 20-30. Though I have found a crypt with 160+ iron so it's random.
