Hard time with Moder

Any tips for her? She followed us to our portal and is spawn camping it. It's an awkward area that floods a lot in a swamp and we can't really fight there. We have upgraded silver and draughr bows and used mosquito arrows but could barely outdo the health regen on her. tried fire arrows too but they did less dmg than the mosquito arrows.

Fire is good for the dot. Other than that use bonemass when she lands to wack her in melee

Don't just pelt her with arrows. We tried that our first time, too. Don't be afraid of going up and doing some damage with melee weapons.

She does have a weakness to fire, but you're better off using the poison arrows than the fire ones, really. Especially if she's followed you into a swamp area; the fire arrows won't be good for much of anything.

Make yourself some earth pillars. These can be used as indestructible cover from her aerial attacks.

Either way, Poison Arrows will do far more damage. Fire arrows isn't advised if you've got the mats for poison or needle.

Wouldn't say far more damage, marginally more yes, especially if you've brought a drauger fang that has in built poison. Moder is weak against fire and poison so in the end either or is fine. Regardless the real damage is done in melee.

But if one really wanted to it is definitely achievable to take moder down with not even 200 fire arrows and a crude bow with bow skill in the 20's easily with in half hour, if your handicapping yourself further than maybe under an hour. But what crazy person would do that 😙🎶

just did it for the first time the other day. used a good bow and fire arrows and kept my distance. she stayed still for most of it, only going into the air to cast her ice attack once. just kite the incoming barrage and repeat.

Well fire arrows are pretty bad, but switch that to same arrow as the Draug (say, Neddle) and over time Crude bow will be pretty close to Draug in damage (like 10% less or so). Crudes aim is wonky, but Flint bow is seriously good sidearm through whole game.

Silly facts aside, i'd leave this thread alone if not for complete lack of note that meleeing Moder can be great too (on par or easier than Elder). Especially if ones Bow skill levels are low.
With Moders non-resistance to pierce, fang spear is real nice. Her attacks are predictable and Spear has great reaction time due to fast stabs, and has pretty good upwards reach.

The first few times i did it with bows too, but nowadays melee is just faster/easier.

But for bow: neddle, poison or obsidian arrows. Instead of trying to shoot when possible run around a bit, find a good spot and then resume. And i dont mean good shooting spot, but a spot where she will have trouble attacking you and will try to land in difficult places for her. Then she can derp out becoming very easy target. Swamp might actually not be half bad for that.
