after this new patch/update the mobs doesn't attack me at all, kinda boring. any ideas to what may be the cause for thiis bug? yes i have mods but i took em away and started the game in vanilla and still didn't help

Check your world's modifiers. There is an option to make enemies passive.
Maybe you accidentally enabled that.

Each of the difficulty tabs has their own "conditions", and some of them includes making mobs passive by default (without having to manually select "passive mobs"). Read each of the difficulty tabs to see exactly what each one does.

if you select one of those tabs which has passive enemies, you will have to switch off passive mobs (if you want them to attack on sight) , which will make your difficulty "custom difficulty"

i found the course of this issue, and i didn't have any passive difficulty on, i had just lost a file so after tried verifying the files the game worked. but thank you for the very helpful explanation
