No new mace type weapon in Mistlands tier
This is kind of weird, we get a new weapon for every type (The Jotun Bane, an axe; the Himmin Afl, a hammer; the Mistwalker, a sword, and so on) but no new mace. This is unfair for players who use a mace as a primary weapon.
Or maybe i'm missing something?

It's not a 1-hander, but it uses "club" skill.

No shield in the Mistlands pretty means death. This is still unfair.

I was a bit disappointed with that too because I main clubs but I just spent a couple days training sword for mistwalker and I love it. I never used a sledge type weapon before the demolisher but I use it sometimes now too so my club skill doesn't stagnate. it was tough saying goodbye to Frostner tho. farewell, my long time companion.

I still use Frostner of course. Nice freeze, nice knockback, but so low damage to Mistlands insects.

I don't fully agree, what saves you are his side effects, freezing and knockin an enemy back is good, but the damage is so low

I did 3 mines and plenty beside with frosner so while the damage is low, it WILL get the job done. I do suggest training swords (if needed) and getting Mistwalker. that thing just EATS seekers and you can keep your shield.

I used Mistwalker once I had access to it, but my wife used Frostner. We both did just fine. The real star of Mistlands melee combat though, is the Himmin Afl (lightning atgeir). I never thought I'd fight without a shield in Valheim, but this weapon was finally the one that tipped the scales. I ended up using it about 75% of the time...before I eventually converted to mostly Magic (staff) use.

If it really bothers you to not have a weapon of each type, there is a mod by Smoothbrain called "GapFiller" that adds in appropriate weapons (with appropriate damage, crafting, and stamina costs) of each tier to fill in the gaps in vanilla weapon progression. We are now using it in our high difficulty, heavily modded playthrough, and it is very well done and fits in with other weapons of each tier perfectly.

its not "unfair" it was about time mace got thier deserved "timeout" it was the only weaponclass you could use form the start all the way till now and it never skipped a tier till now. so now it got its break like ALL other weapon types had aswell at some point.

ashlands for certain will have a new mace again.

And?

look for a mod if you want a God Tier weapon. Its not about 1 shotting things, its about fighting using tactics and guile, not brute force.

Weapons can have as much parry as a shield.
The sleadge is as good as a silver shield (upgreaded) for blocking. And you dont really need that much block anyways, as long as you eat well, due to diminishing returns of armor values when damage is less than two times the block.

if you try to parry 2 star seekers, then yeah, shields are needed, but for everyting else...

No biome makes a new version of all weapon types available. Each will have some missing.
Faceplant Mar 26, 2023 @ 2:51pm
You could actually argue that they skipped two biomes. I had to look up what the club weapon was in plains, since all you ever hear about is frostner. Occasionally you hear about someone using the porcupine, but, of course, frostner has it's advantages in mistlands.
Subsonic Mar 26, 2023 @ 3:48pm
Porcupine is very good against the right opponents. Not uncommon to have Frosner and Porcupine available if you're a club user, along with a 2-handed hammer (iron sledge or demolisher). If that's your focus.
Argonauth Mar 26, 2023 @ 4:06pm
I will try the two-handed club
